Everyone needs something to do. Something to do to pass the time, or to distract themselves from thinking. I guess kids these days call them hobbies. For me, drawing is hardly a hobby, it's more like a way to let my mind escape into an alternate universe where there are no problems to be had, or to be thought of having. There's nothing but me and my imagination.
