e are proud of our history, our accomplishments and how our association has withstood the test of time. We are grateful to all of our members, both past and present, for so many hours of hard work, the numerous sponsors and the general public that have supported us throughout the years.
T
he Association started with families that gathered to share interest in the preservation, reconstruction and enjoyment of classic pre-1949 automobiles. The members exchanged ideas, created good fellowship, promoted safe driving, and encouraged an understanding of street rodding as a sport. In other words, it was a group of people that stood together as friends that shared a common bond.

inging River Street Rod Association originally formed in 1977 in Pascagoula, MS. In February of 1978, Billy Crocker, Jeanne Crocker and Harold Young appeared before Notary Public, Rex Gordon, Jr. to form a non-profit corporation to be known as the Singing River Street Rod Association. Members followed with writing a Constitution and By-Laws. Since most of the members were from the Pascagoula area, they all agreed on using the name "Singing River" from the legend of the Pascagoula Indians. As the legend would have it, the Pascagoula Indians marched into the river while singing and chanting their tribal songs, rather than be enslaved, this was where they perished. Therefore, the name "Singing River" Street Rod Association is, indeed, part of a legend.

inging River Street Rod’s history continued to grow and improve over the next 25 years. Membership grew to include members not only from Pascagoula, but also from Biloxi, Ocean Springs, Gulfport and as far away as Germany.
W
e are proud to announce that we have an original chartered member active today, Randy Moye. Randy has shared memories of the "good times" with us such as: a womanless beauty pageant, car washes, bake sales, gong shows, a Mardi Gras car show at the mall, River Jamborees and Cruise Ins, club picnics at the river, Christmas parties, crawfish boils and plenty of eating meetings. All of these were for fun.

ext came the Rod Run’s. The Singing River club started their rod runs aimed for family oriented fun and enjoyment throughout the Southeast. The Rod Runs are a time for reunions of friends from different cities and states to come enjoy games, activities, good food and to show off their street rods. While having a good time with friends, Singing River has taken these times to help raise money for numerous charities through out these past years. Some that benefited from these donations are the MS Firefighters Burn Center, "The Promise House", St. Vincent de Paul Society, CASA and individual families through various churches.

o this day Singing River continues to aim for family oriented Rod Runs with lots of fun activities for kids and adults, vendors, lots of food and cars from all over the United States. Each year the Rod Run is held in March on the week-end following St. Patrick's Day at the President Casino Broadwater Resort. The show has been opened to pre ’78 cars, trucks and motorcycles.

inging River is also a proud sponsor of Cruisin’ the Coast in October of each year at the D’Iberville site located between the D'Iberville City Hall and Civic Center.

n keeping with the Season of giving, Singing River Street Rod Association conducts "Santa Cruise."
This is a one day rod run held in the parking lot in front of the D'Iberville City Hall. Admission to this event is a new toy for a needy child or cash. The event is highlighted with Santa and good music, good food, dash plaques and an award winning ceremony. All of the proceeds of this event is given to local charities.

he Singing River Street Rod family hosts the D'Iberville Cruise-In located in the Wal-Mart Parking lot, D’Iberville, MS. 6pm-9pm. on the second Saturday night of each month of April-October.
