What you can do

We will be playing in public places around rb. It is critical that we also have individuals to ask for money, explain what we are all about, and hand out tax deduction forms. Duets, solos, any kind of performance is welcome! If you'd like to make posters or flyers we would be very happy.

Hi All,
Congratulations on your success! You are one of the most successful fundraisers I have ever known. Here are a couple of reminders for all.

1. We are guests of the store that we are playing in, therefore, we need to be considerate. I know you think you are doing great things,
but you will be greater if you are well behaved and nice.

2. I know we all think that your music is great. However, we do not want to leave our instruments lying around. They can be stolen. Also,
the instruments are hazards to the store patrons. We DO NOT want them to trip over our cases. We also do not want to hit patrons with your lovely violin cases.
If an untoward incident occurs, the store will be sued and this will be the end of all future fundraising events. So please hide our instruments or cases!!!

3. I know that most of you study using Suzuki books. Suzuki method is not just about books but about discipline and respect. In Suzuki group lessons, the child has
to put his violin down and listen to others when the songs being played are beyond his abilities.

4. I promised the store that there will be no more than 10 -15 kids at the store at one time. The stores get very nervous if there are too many kids hanging around their
store. The stores' are just giving us a lot of allowance. The Albertson's manager at Rancho Bernardo was kind enough to allow us to play. He said that technically his
insurance policy and lease may not allow him to let us play. I know you all are eager to do community service. Here is my unsolicited advice.
You can do community service by practicing a lot at home and do your very best. Then you can let the whole world know that you liked music because public school music education taught you music.

5. If you are not scheduled for the whole day and have nothing to do anymore please be kind to call your parents to come and pick you up.
This is how you can help maximize your participation. This is a group activity. We want the group to be successful.

6. Thank you parents for your support. Thank you for staying to listen to the kids practice quartet in the streets. Thank you for helping by being
around and checking up on your children.

Best wishes to all,

Jean Arriaga
