The goal of "Project Cop Wired" is to get more Law Enforcement Agencies online.

This very page is the template for creating free pages for law enforcement agencies. It is a very simple and easy to edit. The best news of all the ad-supported Angelfire pages are FREE! You can keep the page as is indefinitely. Or if you choose allow this to be your first steps into the Internet. Your own custom page that can be a proto-type to a professionally prepared web-site.

Even though all Project Cop Wired pages share the same basic and easy to edit template, once they are customized to a specific department they will be very unique.

The background is easily changed to suit the need of a specific department. In the links section below you will find several links to various backgrounds and images that are available.

The "Badge" logo near the top of the page can be replaced with the badge of a specific department. An actual cloth badge can easily be scanned in and used for the logo.

The links section on the customized page should reflect links local interests. Such as nearby agencies, EMS, weather, local web-sites etc. The links here are tailored more to things that will help in the design of your custom web-site.

The "contact info" section listed above can be made to suit your department including address, phone, fax and e-mail options.

Also in the links section you will find USACops. They offer FREE e-mail for police officers! It is easy to add your FREE account address to you contact info also listed on your custom page. You can add a link directly to USACops e-mail login page in the link section of your custom page. "Officer' e-mail Login". From there you officers can access as many FREE e-mail account that they wish. I would suggest that a specific general department e-mail also be created and added to the custom page. That way anyone finding your web-site can contact your agency with ease.

Editing your page is easy. Once your page is created, you will be given username and password information. Your password can be changed easily to suit your need. Once the original page is created you might have little need for editing other than to update links, address changes and personnel changes. Details and tutorials will be supplied as part of this project.
