Case 1 - Albert Park Attack

Police believe that up to six people may have witnessed a brazen daylight sex attack in Albert Park on the 14th November 2002.

An 18 year old girl walked up the Victoria Street/Kitchener St steps and into the park at 9:05am and was grabbed from behind by an attacker. The man tried to strangle her, (which prevented her from screaming) and pinned her against a tree. He pulled a large shard of glass from his pocket and racked her face with it several times before sexually assaulting her. She kneed him in the groin and attempted to get away but he dragged her back and re-commenced the attack before she was able to knee him again in the groin and successfully escape.
