SUBJECT: Standard Operating Procedure, Squadron Physical Fitness Training (PT) Uniform
DATE: 21 JAN 05
There has been much confusion as to what the PT uniform specifically requires. This SOP is meant to clear up said confusion and mandate a Squadron PT uniform.
The past PT uniform included:
Brown undershirt
Shirt will be tucked in
Dark Blue (preferable) or black shorts (preferably plain, no markings, etc.)
Shorts will be of reasonable length. No longer than 1 inch above or below the kneecap
BDU Cap
Athletic Shoes.
The new PT uniform includes:
Squadron T-Shirt (Gray or White)
Shirt will be tucked in
Dark Blue (preferable) or black shorts (preferably plain, no markings, etc.)
Shorts will be no longer or shorter than 1 inch below or above the kneecap
Athletic Shoes
BDU Cap
As you can see the new PT uniform will require the wear of the gray or white Squadron T-Shirt. As a side note, the BDU Cap will NOT be worn during any PT drills, only when conducting normal squadron activities outdoors.
This uniform will apply to the Senior Members who participate in PT and the Cadets. Members not in the proper uniform will be warned for the first infraction, upon a second infraction they will be issued Demerits or asked not to participate (in the case of Senior Members). If Senior Members are allowed to participate in PT in a non-regulation uniform, then Leading by Example will fail. Senior Members are encouraged to partake in PT with the cadets however it would be advantageous for Squadron Morale if all participating members looked as one.
