SUBJECT: Procedure for Joining the Squadron E-mail List
DATE: 21 JAN 05
This regulation is more informative than anything else, and was created after some voiced some difficulties signing up for the 96th Yahoo E-mail Listing. While it is not necessary to have a Yahoo e-mail account to receive squadron e-mails, it is recommended.
Procedures if you do not have a Yahoo E-mail Account:
Go to www.yahoo.com
Click on “Mail”
Under the heading, “New to Yahoo,” click on “Get a Free Yahoo Account”
In the lower left hand part of the screen, click on the button that says “Sign up for Yahoo! Mail Now.” NOTE: make sure it is the free version of Yahoo.
Next you will go through the application process, and the rest is fairly self-explanatory.
Procedures after you have created a Yahoo e-mail account, or already have one:
Go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/96thCAP/
click on “Join This Group”
sign in to your Yahoo account
next, enter you profile name. This can be your actual name, or just a nickname
Accept the Yahoo terms of service
Next you can choose to make a profile or not
Finally, you can edit the options of your group membership, and fill out why you want to join the group (just say “for CAP”) then click “join” at the bottom of the page.
After you click join, your application will be sent to a senior member and you will receive a notification when your account is approved.
After your account has been approved, send and e-mail to the cadet commander informing him or her that your account has been approved, and you can now receive e-mails from the squadron.
