Chapter One The Symbol: What this book is about.
Chapter Two The Big Mystery: The book asks the question, "Who or What Created the Universe?" The debate between creation and evolution is characterized as an intractable debate that can never ultimately be solved. The book then proclaims that is has a "Third Option, which is an alternative to creation and evolution. The alternative to creation and evolution liberates the reader from the problems of faith and atheism associated with creation and evolution.
Chapter Three Spiritmatter: This chapter offers a highly original analogy between the religious belief in spirit and matter and concrete. The chapter argues that just as concrete is a versatile building material that can be used to build almost anything, the idea of spirit and matter is a versatile metaphysical building material that can be used to build any type of religion. Spirit and matter are compounded into a neologism. Termed spiritmatter, the word defines that singular spiritual paradigm upon which the various religions of the world have been built.
Chapter Four The Scopes Trial:
Chapter Five False Sovereignty: Asks the question, "Did Columbus Create America?" Discusses the issue of "False Sovereignty" in which is the claim made by every religion that it was their God who created the Universe. The chapter argues that just as Columbus did not "create" America, neither did the God of any spiritmatter religion create our Universe. In fact, the Universe was here for billions of years before any religion or prophet appeared to claim it on behalf of their God.
Chapter Six Humanity and Infinity: Asks the questions, "What does it mean to be human?" and "Who or What is God?"
