Welcome to the Alamo. Calallen Multi-grade School. Students dubbed it "the Alamo" after its classroom were added/built right next to each other with no space in between, So the walls of the classrooms resembled the heavy fortress walls of the Texas Alamo. |

The Corner Marker states -- It was built in 1940, and CHS was born in 1943. Prior to 1943, The high school student attended and graduated from Robstown High School. |
The Legendary Teacher's Home of Ms. Wilma Magee. She and husband Bill, Sons: Dan and Charles lived here as I was growing up in the mid '50s. I visit Dan and Charles quite often, On the week before Christmas, we would sing "Rudolph, the Red Nose Reindeer" about every night. |
While back at the Alamo , Billy Paine discusses the good old days. From here we continued the tour, Through the 1950 Calallen High School over by Eileen's Home on Cornett. The Glass School, The school is gone, only the Gym, and the football field are there. We drove by the present high school, and through "Lover's Lane," on County Park Hazel Bazemore and back to Guth Park the point of origin. |

And the once full Picnic Area of CHS Alumni fill with gaiety, laughter and visiting guests is once again -- quiet. Only appropriate -- Last person left and working on the Paperwork is Ms Eileen "Awesome Organizer" Hall-Hatton -- Eileen, from all of us, Thank you so much! |
