Temperament:Peaceful for a cichlid. They usually pair off and males will defend territory. Not much damage is usually done by males.

Average Size:2.5-3 inches

Gender: Males are larger, and the female has a reddish belly, and shortened dorsal ray.

Perferred Water Conditions:Temp of 70-80. ph of 6.0-7.8

Care:Can be hard. They are very sensitive to water chemistry. Also should be housed with more peaceful fish, and smaller tetras. Also should be kept in pairs.
