Our First Christmas Party In San Diego, California

It was the first week of December 2005, and at that time I was studying for my finals. I shifted my brain from studying to making plans to set up our first Christmas party for our classmates in Southern California. I e-mailed our classmates right away and gather their opinions. The original set date was December 24, 2005. The responsed was quick and everyone did e-mailed me about their opinions. Grace was the only one that has a problem and could not make it on that date due to her personal commitments. Mike Mejia’s sister and brother-in-law was also invited. I changed the date right away to December 17, 2005 and everyone was available except Mayflor (Sister of Michael Mejia). For over 23 years that had passed by, this party was our first time to have in our lives and we all got together and celebrated our first Christmas Party in San Diego, California. The following classmates attended the party: Bob & Cecil’s family, Alex & Cynthia, Noel and his family, Myself & my family, Grace, Manong Rodel and his shipmate Robert.

Bob, Cecil and daughter Zyska was the first one to arrived in San Diego that day. First they visited Manong Rodel and toured their new cargo ship from Taiwan. After that they came over to the house and we went to Navy Exchange in San Diego to find the best whiskey in town, the "Johnny Walker Blue Label". Just like what he said, only Presidents can afford to drink this kind of whiskey. As soon as we arrived home, Bob started grilling his favorite Korean barbecue that afternoon while waiting for everyone to show up. Bob opened Johnny right away and shared to me and Noel. Noel made a comment that it's like drinking a $30.00 worth a shot. Thanks BOB, you’re the bomb Bruh! Everyone brought their own food and we had abundant of food on the table. Bob had the sinigang na caldereta, Noel had the bangus and lumpia, Grace had the best pancit and some kakanin, Alex brought pork ribs and kakanin and I had some chicken adobo and the best Hawaiian Mix that Noel like it so much. We continued that night with the white elephant gift exhanges and games. Everyone had a gift to open in front and sometimes someone will steal it. It was fun and BOB said on one of our game, that "he didn’t come to San Diego to THINK but to DRINK. Noel got most of the prizes on every game and BOB was jealous 'cause he think it was a set up...just kidding Bob. Noel is still sharp like when were in high school. Manong Rodel & his friend was also included on this party. Fortunately their cargo merchant ship passed by San Diego port terminal to offload goods. It was great to have them and see them for the first time in my life since I left the Philippines. We had a great time and thanks to our classmates to make this event a successful one. The year 2006 Christmas Party will be in Cerritos, California. It will the residence of Alex & Cynthia Agustin. I’m pretty sure we will have a good time once again. Alex said make sure bring your wet suite, because we will be using their swimming pool at 30 degrees Farenheit. Just a reminder that everyone is invited for this coming party. If it happens that if you're in California for a vacation on our second Christmas party, just give us a call and we will surely accomodate you for this party. Life is great when everyone sits together and have fun sometimes...

ROn, I have seen the pictures you sent to Alex and it seems you really had so much fun in Camiling. I saw those bartek doing well with their bottles of beer. Mukhang tindi ng tama ni Marse and Francis. Are they really that cute when they got to be drowning or were they starting up that time? I missed those venues. Nakakainggit yung itsura ng mga sanggano mong kasama. Ano naman ang drama ni Carina? She looks like J-lo while in the pool. Mukhang sabik sa lamig dahil matagal ng umiinit. Joke only. Ronald, We also enjoy having you here. Thanks for dropping by just to visit us. I was on leave last week but our secretary relayed your message of your leaving PI and bound for Hongkong. Having a website or egroup for our batch is a good idea. I think naming it as CCHS82(Camiling Colleges High School '82) is ok. Just inform us when it is done and we will disseminate it to others. 23 Sept 2002 Ronald, I printed a copy of your emails and some pictures uploaded to our website and gave it to Nathan and Marcy. I also informed Lito Tumbaga about our website and instructed him to disseminate it to our classmates based in Canada. All that I informed about our class website are very happy about this project and they are all enthusiastic to have our class list completed. Here are some of the inquiries/suggestions from our classmates? 1. Can we have a resume-type template where we can register online ? 2. 17 November 2002 Alex and Cynthia made it in Hawaii. It was the first time we all got together after high school. We had a wonderful dinner at Tess Tabula's house. THANKS TESS and NAP! 02 December 2002Ron, We went to the wake of Boy's father. It's some sort of a mini reunion of our batch. Among our classmates who went to extend their condolences to Boy and family are Marjorie, Carina, June, Nestor, Marcy, Imee and myself. Other classmates like Francis, Marlene, Caling and Nathan would have gone there earlier or later than us. We are very grateful for having a kind-hearted classmate as you are. You know RON, life here is getting harder and harder. Everyone wanted to go abroad to seek greener pasture. However, not all is lucky enough to have that opportunity. Your idea is great. Among our classmates, Imee Bautista is the only businesswoman based in Camiling. Siya nga pala, she wanted her contact number in our website be changed with this new one 9202810197 as her old cellphone was lost. She knows the ins and outs of business around the community. She's been there for more than a decade now. Alex Agustin shared his idea of donating sports facilities in some of the elementary schools in Camiling. He is aware how sports have been neglected in the countryside. Hence, more and more are hooked into drugs. I will convey your plans to other classmates. Mike

01 January 2003 It was a short vacation but full of memories. Once again thanks for Bob and Cecil for giving us an accomodation when we were in LA with short noticed. My wife and I had a good time when we had our reunion last Dec 22, 2003 at Bob's place. Everyone showed up and we had a wonderful karaoke time, sharing balita's, and most of all being together once again. Sometimes I wonder and reminiscent our teenage life in the Philippines, especially if I see our pics on this website. I dugged my old album in San Jose and I found some pics that I need to include on this site. Cecil showed us an album full of old memories when we're back home in the Philippines.
