The Cooperative Office Education Program is a cooperative arrangement between the school and various employers in the community. It allows participating students who are acquiring a salable skill in the Business Education Department to work at the entry level as an extension of the classroom instruction.
Through the use of individualized training plans and periodic visitations by the COE Coordinator to the job site, the office training is planned, coordinated, and supervised by the school and the employer. Upon completion of the school year and the student’s contract requirements for COE, the student will receive one (1) credit for 396 hours worked from August 1 to June 1 of the school year. However, in order to receive credit for COE, the student must pass his/her related business class under the instruction of the COE Coordinator.
