Brock Lesnar appeared on this mornings Power Trip radio show with host Mike Superstar Morris on AM 1130 KFAN in the Twin Cities. When asked if he would perform the shooting star press move that caused him to suffer a concussion, Lesnar said, Of course not and laughed.
Later in the interview, Lesnar indicated that he hasn't completely ruled out performing the move again. Its moments like WrestleMania that make me put my neck and pretty face on the line... added Lesnar. The odds are against it, but you never know. I'm a balsy SOB.
Morris told Lesnar that a fan who sat second row at WrestleMania was on the phone and wanted to talk about the finish. Lesnar joked, Id love to hear about it, as if to say that he didn't remember much about the match. When a female caller advised Lesnar to eliminate the move he responded, You want to see me around more, don't you? Yeah, we need to cut that one out.
Lesnar was very respectful when the subject of being a two-time WWE Champion came up. Just hearing you talk about it, Lesnar told Morris, Im humbled. He went on to thank his wrestling coaches at the University of Minnesota, the local media, and everyone else who helped him make a name for himself to the point that WWE had interest in him.
A caller told a story about waiting with a group of people to meet Kurt Angle. He said when Angle showed up, he was bruised and clearly battered (I assume this was after WrestleMania). The caller said that despite Angles condition, he went out of his way to visit with the fan and sign autographs for roughly 30 minutes. Lesnar said that didnt surprise him a bit. That's just the type of guy Kurt is and that's why I have so much respect for him, said Lesnar.
Lesnar also praised his fellow U of M alumnus Shelton Benjamin for the job hes done early in his WWE career. When a caller asked if Goldberg is physically bigger than him, Lesnar replied, Nobody is bigger than I am. Lesnar also said he really doesnt hang out with any wrestlers when hes at home now that Curt Hennig passed away. He said he has numerous friends in wrestling, but none that live in the area.
Its worth noting that if any of Lesnars comments seem over the top or arrogant, he was simply playing into the mood of the show. He came off very well, as he always does during his regular KFAN appearances. The segment was not advertised yesterday, so as usual, I missed the first part of the interview. He's learning about kids. Lesnar's girlfriend, Nicole, gave birth to their first child, Mya Lynn Lesnar, five months ago. "The greatest," he said.
