Manila ComiCon postponed

Hobbylink Productions, Inc has agreed to postpone the Manila ComicCon.

This difficult decision is based on the request of the co-presentors, sponsors and the general public to move the event to a bigger venue and a later date to give them more ample time to prepare for such event. The large interest for the people to attend this event might make the current venue difficult to hold and execute the program well and the organizers are currently in negotiation in a location that will hold such amount of people. Manila ComiCon will be announcing the new venue and date in the next few weeks.

Manila ComiCon would like to thank for all your support in this event. Such positive comments made the organizers more motivated to give you a bigger and more exciting Manila ComicCon.

First Manila Comic Con

The long wait is finally over. Buckle up, Manila because the Mecca of Comic Culture is coming to town. On 18th and 19th of October 2008, the Glorietta Activity Center and Glorietta Tent will be transformed to a Comic Culture Wonderland as Hobbylink Productions, Inc. presents the first world-class comic convention to hit the Philippines, The 1st Manila Comic Con!

The 1st Manila Comic Con will bring together the best and the brightest comics  talents the country has to offer. Celebrated Filipino comics artists will honor their patrons, staunch comic book aficionados, by conducting an exclusive book signing and book launching all throughout the event. Not to be outdone, Filipino sculptors will join in and exhibit their masterpieces. To top it all off, a Cosplay Masquerade party will be held in October 18 at the Glorietta Tent to create an awesome venue where enthusiasts, hobbyists and artists can get together socialize and build a positive comics energy!

Too good to be true? Think again! The 1st Manila Comic Con will go where no other comic convention has dared. It will bring a hail storm of toy sale, panel discussions, life-size and museum-type displays -all done in an international-convention style.

Petition for Lions Gate Films

It's been a talk of the web that Lexi Alexander, director of the upcoming Punisher: Warzone film, has been removed from her helm. With the fans clamoring this event, a petition is made for the producers at Lions Gate to bring her back to her rightful place.

To:  Lionsgate Films

Very recently, fans of the upcoming film "Punisher: Warzone" were informed that director of the Film, Lexi Alexander, was removed, or in some way restricted with her involvement in the movie.

The reaction to this news has been unanimously negative. Lexi Alexander inspired a lot of faith from fans of action movies and the source material alike with her decisions on the movie, and the news that she may be removed from the project has left many fans very unhappy.

The negative word-of-mouth has already begun spreading with many fans now losing interest in seeing this movie, or at the very least, very concerned about the direction this once promising movie is moving in. If Lionsgate continue to make significant changes to the movie, or do not inform the audience of the situation, then surely the film will suffer greatly, both in quality and the movie’s chances for success.

We ask that you allow Lexi Alexander to continue working on this movie, and not to compromise the movie that she has made, and has been supported by many fans since day one.
