Clerks -Stars Kevin Smith, Jason Mewes, Jeff Anderson, and Brian O'Halloran.

The first of five movies in what I'm calling the Kevin Smith series. Chronicling a day in the life of Quick Stop clerk Dante Hicks, CLERKS captures the hilarity of the humdrum even as it raises slackerdom to existential proportions. From behind his counter, Dante desperately tries to exert some power over the crazy customers, his own love life, and his incorrigible friend and fellow clerk Randal--the type who sees nothing wrong in closing the video shop he works in to go rent movies from a better store.

IN MY OPINION-Kevin's first movie so considering the lack of funds it was pretty good. The only thing that bugged me was the black and white.

Overall Rating= 5

Mallrats-Stars Kevin Smith, Jason Mewes, Jason Lee, Jeremy London, and Shannon Doherty.

When Brodie (Lee) is dumped by his girlfriend (Shannen Doherty), he retreats to the mall with his best friend T.S. (London), whose girlfriend has also left him. Between brooding and visits to the food court, the unmotivated twosome decide to win their girlfriends back with the help of the ultimate delinquents, Jay (Mewes) and Silent Bob (Smith), whose continuing adventures take the word "nuisance" to a whole new level. (96 minutes)

IN MY OPINION-got really good at the end. If was that funny all the way through it wouldn't have been hated like it was.

LATER NOTE-introducing the __- and __+ rating. Movies that get better or worse with repeated viewing

Overall Rating= 7.2+

Chasing Amy-Stars Kevin Smith, Jason Mewes, Ben Affleck, Jason Lee and Joey Lauren Adams.

In Kevin Smith's third movie, he explores jealousy, gender, and relationships. Holden (Affleck) and Banky (Lee) are best friends and co-creators of a popular comic book, "Bluntman and Chronic". When the two meet Alyssa Jones (Adams) Holden falls for her immediately, but there is a problem. A very big problem that leads to more problems. (105 minutes)

IN MY OPINION-One of my favorite movies. Chasing Amy had a good plot, with just the right amount of humor.

Overall Rating= 8.3

Dogma-Stars Kevin Smith, Jason Mewes, Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, and Linda Fiorentino.

The latest battle in the eternal war between Good and Evil has come to New Jersey in the late, late 20th Century. Two renegade fallen angels attempt to use a loop in the system to get back into heaven -- unless a rag-tag group of humans can stop them. (130 minutes)

IN MY OPINION-This movie was often thought provoking, with spurts of humor. Not nearly as funny as the other movie though.

Overall Rating= 6.8

Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back -Stars Kevin Smith, Jason Mewes, Jason Lee, and Shannon Elizabeth.

Packed with stars including Ben Affleck, Chris Rock, Shannon Elizabeth, Jason Lee and more, this wildly irreverent comedy is actor/director Kevin Smith's hilarious finale to the adventures of Jay and Silent Bob that began in Clerks and ran through Mallrats, Chasing Amy and Dogma! When best buddies Jay (Jason Mewes) and Silent Bob (Smith) discover that a major motion picture is being based on their likenesses, they head for Hollywood to claim the big movie money they deserve. But when the dopey duo learn that they've been cut out of the cash, they set out to sabotage the flick at all costs! Featuring a host of celebrity cameos set to a hot hit soundtrack, Jay and Silent Bob's raucous cross-country road trip is a crash course in the rules of the road with a nonstop assortment of outrageous characters that will have you laughing out loud!

IN MY OPINION-The latest and possibly best accepted film Smith made.
