Biodome: Mars
Biodome: Mars is a squad-based first-person shooter with a horror title aspect. B:M takes place in the year 2038. Colonies were established on Mars in 2020 and through frequent “bus” trips, the colony population grew to 1500 people. In 2038, troubles are reported to the base station on Earth before all contact is lost completely and a platoon of self-sufficient marines are sent to Mars to ascertain what has happened and handle the situation. You are one of those marines.
Six months after departure from
Earth’s
B:M will let you explore the complete story of what happened to the colonists in a completely non-linear fashion. The results of their actions will be the first thing you encounter, but you will not know how to destroy the evil until you know the beginning. Station recordings and videos will tell you part of the story, the other part will be told to you through what you witness as you walk the confines of the biodome. You will learn the science and philosophy behind the evil in the souls of man that has formed a creature that represents the epitome of true evil. How, as the population of Mars grew and evolved, so too did the evil that festered beneath the planet’s surface. You will see how it corrupted both the dead and the living colonists to create an army as well as the manifestations of itself in even more deadly forms. Finally you will have to escape before it destroys you and your entire platoon.

General Notes
The mission is essentially a guantlet run by the group of marines. They are sent down to investigate the mining operation. At the bottom they discover a black liquid emitting an equally dark fog. It makes sudden advances on them and monsters appear, neccessitating a hasty retreat. As the level progresses, the black fog fills in behind them, and as they get higher and look down into the large chasm used to facilitate mining, it begins to fill up the space and rise towards them. It is essentially an invulnerable entity, evil in its purest essence and is responsible for the mutation of the colonists and the creation of the enemies that the marines encounter. Monsters continually spawn behind them, creating a force that, no matter how many they kill, will keep coming so the marines must escape rather than trying to kill everything. At the exit, they must set charges to seal that particular exit to the surface, though it is surely not the only exit...
