"The difference between fiction and reality is that fiction has to make sense." Tom Clancy.

Want to Blow Your Mind?

Yeah? Well think about this- you have approximately 400-700 lives, and you are living them all at the SAME time- (we talked about this in Changing the second class)- i went on to think about it- and here's what I came up with... there is no past- you can't see it or go back to it- so it doesn't exits- there is no future- you can't see it or get there- by the time you think you're there- it's the present- there is no present because by the time you think about that- it's the past (which we already said doesn't exist) so TIME DOESN'T EXIST...not only will that completely blow your mind- it makes you wonder why professors tell you not to be late for class...

Hey- Here's Some Books I've Read- and what I thought of them...Sorry if I insult any English Teachers...

The Lord of the Rings- J.R.R. Tolkien
this has to be one of the best books I've ever read...and I've read it many times...you just have to trust me
there...the story line is a step up from The Hobbit as Tolkien had graduated from telling his children bedtime
stories, and started to write a story that did not necessarily have the childish antics of The Hobbit,
the narrator no longer talks directly at the reader, and the story in general has a darker nature. Not
for the casual reader- you really have to want this one... Read the BOOK before you watch the Movie
The Once and Future King- T. H. White
this is a good book, especially if you are into the whole Legend of King Arthur thing...just a warning, White can be
very sarcastic sometimes, especially when referring to one of the past authors of the legend- Sir Thomas Mallory...
The Old Man and the Sea- Ernest Hemingway
this is my token (no. no... not "Tolkien") "hated it" book- I'm sorry- but it's just hard to get into a book about a guy being pulled out to
sea by a fish- especially when that's the only action...I know it's supposed to be about dreams and realities,
and success and failure, but if you can't pay attention to the story on the surface, it's extremely hard to read
between the lines...
Crime and Punishment- Fyodor Dostoyevsky
a great book for anyone who wants to get into the mind of a criminal...if the main character actually is a
criminal...I don't want to give away too much of the plot-line- so let me just say this is a must read, even if
it's not a required book for school...

Movies

Ok...this section needs a little work so far...but I'll get there...trust me...

The Lord of the Rings- The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, The Return of the King
OK- they are all good movies in each one's respect. I thought the first one stuck
fairly close to the epic book, and I could understand the omissions and slight
additions in dialogue and action... but once you get to The Two Towers- and it's a
good movie in itself- but what the HELL was Peter Jackson thinking! Faramir is NOT
Boromir, although he seems to be a reincarnation of him through dialogue- THAT never
happened in the book! And where did they take Frodo?? He was NEVER there!! And
how did they sneak Arwen in?- By nearly killing ARAGORN! The king of the world was
never in any grave danger in the works of Tolkien... The third movie was wonderful, however, and they really managed to bring the book back. I personally enjoyed the third one best. And I'm not really ashamed to say I cried through almost the whole thing. I was interested in the fact that Christopher Lee is not in the third movie at all, but at least they managed to give Andy Serkis (that's not how you spell it?) some screen time as a creature "not so different from a hobbit". Gollum wasn't always a CGI character! I do suggest that you see the
movies- they are a good representation of a different person's take on the story... but they really only show about a third of the entire story...
please Please PLEASE- Read the BOOK! It's so much better...
Star Wars
I LOVE the Star Wars Trilogy. Nobody knows... anyway...the original trilogy was WAY better than the stuff they're
putting out now, but that's cause now they're actually using technology... but I would just bore you if I got into
that... any way, as for Episode II, my only real gripe about that is the corny beginning, but it got better as the
movie went on...still, nothing beats a battle scene filmed from a moving pick-up truck while taking shots at a
folding table with model spaceships glued on it... Episode III- May 2005!
Spiderman
Hey- this was a good movie- I actually really liked it- good effects to. I'd tell you more...but well..."I missed
the part where that's my problem"!
Robin Hood: Men In Tights
ok...so this is an older movie...but if you want movie quotes- you can't get much better- where else can you find
horses that talk in subtitles?!?!

Quotes...

Although anything said by real people I know will be kept anonymous,
all of the following quotes have been said by real people or are from the movie or TV show that I credit afterwards...

Pictures...
