Redding Ridge

Redding Ridge Cemetery is located on Black Rock Turnpike (Route 58) in Redding, Connecticut, slightly before and across the street (Route 58) from Christ Church Cemetery (heading north). Headstones date back to the 1800s and there are many modern-day burials contained within. Some interesting graves span the generations. Redding Ridge has one famous inhabitant: Gilbert T. Fox. Fox was an award-winning cartoonist, responsible for "Plastic Man". He also worked on the animated cartoon "Betty Boop", "Side Glances" (a newspaper comic), and the animated series, "Muppet Babies" and "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles". He was nominated twice for a Pulitzer Prize. Photos of his memorial are shown later on this page.
