September 9th, 2010

Readers, Stars, and Rock stars. We’ve got our stage set up now our stagehands just got done with all of the wiring and spotlights are ready to go. Let’s give our stagehands a monster round of applause for setting us up in our new arena!
Now that many of you stars haven’t found us yet in time we know you will. So log onto www.sweetsview.com in the address bar NOT the search engine box. That’s how you get to us.
Now it’s time to turn on our spotlights. No one deserves it more than our stagehands who have worked 24/7 getting us ready for the show we call “Sweetsview”. So turn them bad boys on (the spotlights) Awesome!

We checked with legal and yes we can now update you on our postcards. As we have to catch up as you know we got up to 492 postcards from around the world (no joke). The 493 postcard that we have in has a picture of a sandy beach that’s at Tawas Bay, Michigan. On the back it read “back in Michigan this weekend family reunion Saturday. Then east Tawas to visit my old est. found I am to be grandfather again. Heading south Monday.” Ray Brooks. Why congrats Ray who is one of just many of our good friends. Thanks Ray for our 493 postcard.

The 494 postcard we got in has an awesome picture of the skyline of Toronto, Canada.  I didn’t know it was that big! This postcard read,” Hi Everyone, I’m in Toronto having a great time. Been meeting people from all over the world. There are 7 million people living in Toronto. Half of them were not born in Canada. Tell everyone I said “Hey”. Mike Green. Thank you Mike Green for our 494 postcard. Well everyone you can tell me and the Press-Dispatch has gone our own way. Due to our different view on things. And that’s fine but said in a way you all know me it was only a matter of time before we outgrew our stage. But like in life things change.

you can still send your postcards to sweetsview Winslow, IN 47598 and we will post them on sweetsview.com Rock on good people.

http://www.sweetsview.com

While I’m making my way across the parking lot towards our new arena I have several thoughts going through my mind, mainly the readers we left behind by leaving the paper and it does bother me! Plus a case of, would you believe this, a touch of nerves. I guess that’s to be expected when you start something new! Plus the whole world can now read your words.

So after taking a real deep breath it’s time we all get backstage and yes readers, stars, and rockstars we have got lots of room for all of you! Our stagehands are busy double checking things over making sure things are up and running. We got a little time here we are so shocked and glad that you all stopped by to check out sweetsview.

Things are ready to rock as our stagehands tell us, I know it’s time we make our way towards the stage but first we must flip on the spotlights. This week’s turn goes to all of you who check out sweetsview. We need your help! What with? Spreading the word about sweetsview. I’m wondering just how big we can make this thing with your help? So please throw on our spotlights. “Awesome Job!”
Now it’s time to take our new stage would please shine the spotlights on to the postcards. The 495 postcard that was sent our way has a picture of Toronto, Canada at nighttime with the city all lit up with buildings lit up and search light shining up in the sky. It is so cool looking. The card reads,” They light up the city of Toronto like this every night. I sit out on our roof top patio in the town house that we are staying in and look at this view every night. Went to Niagara falls yesterday it was awesome!” Mike Green What a view you must of enjoyed. I’m sure it’s something you won’t forget. Thank you for sharing it with us and for sending us our 495 postcard.

Our 496 postcard also comes from Toronto, Canada. This one has a picture of the city of Toronto from a bird’s eye view at daytime. Its wild how big Toronto is. On the back of this one reads,” Hi everyone, coming home tomorrow after 10 days in Toronto. Had lots of fun but it will be good to be back home in Indiana. Tell everyone HI.” Mike Green Mike, have a safe trip home and thank you for showing us Toronto and for sending us our 496 postcard.

The 497 postcard has a picture of the state fair gift shop which has big blue ribbons and pigs on the roof of the building with 2010 Indiana State Fair. Now that just funny! This postcard reads,” Sweets, Greeting’s from the Indiana State Fair. The year of the pigs 2010 is the theme this year. You can see the pigs on the roof in the picture of the Gift Ship. Our son Derek plays the piano at the Pioneer building so we spent a lot of time listening to his music.” Marvin and Sue Ellen Barton, Petersburg, IN. That must lf been so nice to see and hear your son Derek playing at the Indiana State Fair you had to be so proud. Thank you for sharing your postcard and the 497 one.
To send postcards to us the address is sweetsview Winslow, IN 47598 and we will share them with the world.

Fire up those spotlights on to Winslow, IN. Winslow is the place you want to be this Saturday September 18th for the Winslow Community Festival. It has a ton of stuff going on all day and even into the night. It starts with breakfast at the Riverside Park hosted by the Winslow Lions Club and that where the Poor Man’s Car Show will be. Then at 8:00am things start going on with the Flea Market on Main St. just to start. The Poor Man’s Car Show starts at 9:00am at the Riverside Park, there will be music uptown and we know you want to be in or watch the Light Up Winslow Parade, which starts around dark. We will be all over the place having fun and we want you to join in on the Winslow Community Festival.

Well readers, starts, and rockstars I have to go to help out with the festival. See you in Winslow, IN for it is our time to shine!

September 22 2010

I hope you enjoyed last week’s show and already it is time for the next little rock show we call sweetsview. Hope you all had a good week. If so, cool, if not, don’t worry, we got another shot at it hopefully again.

Now it’s time we trip to our backstage area and get a drink and a seat before we get rocking. With our stagehands busy with prepping our stage and making things already for us to rock out.  “Yo stagehands! Kick on those fans, would you please?” Man that water tasted good. Alright, hope you are ready, for here comes our stagehands to take us towards the stage.
We get to kick on those spotlights and this week’s turn goes to the Winslow Lions Club and the rest of the groups who got the Winslow Community Festival and, of course, the world famous Light Up Winslow Parade, and man did that rock (the Parade). So the Winslow Lions Club and the rest of the groups would you please kick on our spotlight? “Awesome! Great Job!” After all of that would you please take our stage? Oh yes, that’s what I’m talking about.

Please put our spotlights to our postcards. Our 498 postcard has a picture of what looks like your somewhat normal view of mountains with trees. Just here and there, it’s cool looking. Here is some 411: “Craters of the moon is a National Monument located near the towns of Carey and Area on highway 93 (east of Twins Falls and Sun Valley, Idaho). Spring and the month of June are good times to visit this unique area.” The rest of the postcard read,” Hi Sweets, I am a beginning rock climber and I climb with people from Moscow, Russia who survived the breakup of the former Soviet Union.” Janie Tormohlen. Why a beginning rocker that’s cool, and thank you for our 498 postcard.

Ok, our 499 postcard we got in came to us from Hollywood Beach, Florida. On the front of this one has a picture of the beach with its white sand its blue oceans with its palm trees and with people enjoying all of it. So we flip the Hollywood postcard over and it read, “Hello from South Florida!” BUT here is the kicker no one put their name on the postcard. “Hey what's the matter are you shy?” So to whoever sent us our 499 postcard Thank You.

Now did we get to 500 postcards? I know but I’m not going to tell ya, it’s called a “tease”. So you will have to log on next week and find out. Got a post card you want to send? It will get to us by mailing it to sweetsview Winslow, in 47598.

So now it’s time to put the spotlight on to Winslow to see what’s up and how it’s going? Hey now that I have a bit more freedom watch out! Anyway now I can give a great big shout out to Tom and Happy of the Trading Post. Man what a job! I don’t have to say anymore! Where would we be without you and to all of the Vinnedge family you all “rock.”

Now if you missed the Winslow Community Festival what a shame for it was a blast. It had everything from breakfast at Riverside Park which was great too! A woman chain sawed who cut a beaver out of a tree, it was fun to watch. To a small yard sale to the Pike County Casting Contest, Kiddie train ride and fun for all. Center Street was busy with the inflatables to game and good for all, it was kind of crazy all day, and of course, everybody was everywhere.

Then it was time for the Light up Winslow Parade. I got to do both, watch it and be in it. In case you didn’t know way back when I thought up this parade, who know it would now last 5 years and keep growing. I can say I have seen some cool things in it and this one didn’t disappoint us either. It had the Winslow Lions Club Kiddies Train glowing and the engineer was also a glow. It was so cute! It had bike of all types from 20inch to motorcycles all of them a glow. And it even had a 3 tier birthday cake with 800 to 1,000 lights on it, Muren Church of God was letting everyone know they are about to celebrate their 100 years of being a church. You had to see it for words, I just don’t have them to describe. It was so good it took First place.

Who won the Poor Man’s Car Show? That would be Mindy Adcock with her 1953 Pontiac Fire Chief. It was cool and if she hits her horn you will know it. Yes, I didn’t have anything in it for like the first time ever!

So our current State Rep. Mark Messmer asked me to help him out, you know I will for he has always been there for us and Winslow for all of the years in Winslow I have never seen any other State Rep work that hard for Winslow and I know him on more than just a political thing. So now that I can do what I want to do I can say it would be most wise to vote for the man for we don’t want to lose contact in the statehouse. It just makes good good sense.

It was way awesome what the Outfitters Station put in the Parade, it was Chris Ashby and his buddy who plays the bass. They went rocking out bid time and yes rockers it was “loud and proud rock.” Thank you guys it was too cool.

<="" a="">
I got a question have you helped? What with? That would be spreading the word about
www.sweetsview.com If not; we could sure use your help. If so, you rock and it will keep getting better and we keep updating things. So rock on and we will rock with you next week so “Rock On.”

September 30 2010

What a change with the weather. For now, its okay, but we all know what’s coming! So how about we go to our backstage area and get ready to rock this thing. While I’ve got all of you here, how about spreading the word about sweetsview.com? We could use the help; we will tank you in advance! What do you think about our website and our worldwide stage? Here is a thought, if you have a computer, print a copy of sweetsview and pass it out for the ones who don’t have a computer.

“What? Are we ready?” ask our stagehands. Why sure we are! Let’s do this and rock it out! As we make our way to the spotlight the one who gets to turn them on this week is…All of you who hit the web and found sweetsview.com. We’re glad you found us and don’t be shy go ahead and take the stage first, we don’t mind. Sometimes I just forget that we are on a bigger stage now and I have to now say, “Put those spotlights on to Winslow! That would be Winslow, Indiana not Arizona. Just to clear things up, see what happens when you’re stuck in one way of thinking? Where was I? Oh, yeah, would you please put those spotlights on to our postcard stars and see who sent us a postcard.

Big Time Drum Roll as we hit our 500th postcard. That is right rockers the formerly Sweetscolumn and sweetsview has hit 500 postcards! Taa-daa! That’s just way to cool. On the front of our 500th postcard has a picture from out of the past like from the 40’s era. It has a waitress holding some hot food with the front reading, “Hominy Grill” “Grits are good for you!” “Breakfast, lunch, and dinner.” The back of our 500th postcard reads,” Howdy ya’ll! I’m here in the low country, Charleston, South Carolina and just in from Savannah. The shrimp and grits at this place are too (2) spiritual encounter. Take care! Your loyal reader, Allen.”
What’s up Allen and thank you for sending us our 500th postcard and to all of the other 499 postcards you all rock!

The 501st postcard that was sent our way came to us from Philadelphia, “The city of brotherly love” on the front of our 501st postcard shows us the Philadelphia skyline along with a water fountain with the word love that was famous from back in the day. The back of our 501st postcard read, “Hi, Sweets! Sending some brotherly love to Norm. Have not seen him in the paper recently hope he is not sick.” Nelson and Wormey.

Hey Nelson and Wormey, I’m doing okay for now. Anyway no bugs like the most things in life a little change blew in across the stage and that’s okay for change is good, we think, plus now I’m free to write like I want to without the paper cutting most things I write. So, I or should I say we hit the worldwide stage and we’re hoping to rock this all big time and everything. Sending some brotherly love right back to you, Nelson and Wormey, and thank you for our 501st postcard.
You can send us postcards by snail mail to sweetsview Winslow, IN 47598. And we’ll share them with our peeps. Could you shine those spotlights onto Winslow, IN and not AZ? See even I have to somewhat change my way of thinking to expand our stage. I know it will take time but I’m sure our readers, stars, and rockstars will grow to even bigger numbers than we were dealing with. Who knows how big it could get?!

Summer 2010 has come and gone and what a hot summer it was. You know it’s kind of strange to making change, but I feel and know it’s for the best at least for now. And the Mrs. Is doing a good job of rocking the paper. I guess I got too wild or should I say I do have a mind.
Speaking of rocking my daughter is doing a great job at that as she is doing all of the typing for me. Now to say, way to rock Laura H.. And our secret computer tech, with his mad computer skills also rocks for he put the changes to the web site. That’s just way too cool!
Have you ever went running with the Indians? Last Friday I got to do just that at the 28th Annual Native American days that was held at Angel Mounds Indiana State Museum. If you have never checked it out I can say its well worth the time and worth the road trip. They had everything there at this past event from storytelling to a dancing circle and arrowhead making to Indian games they played in the past to test their skills. All in all it was cool. So some day if you can make the time it is worth checking out Angel Mounds.

You know I’ve learned something that’s kind of strange that is to me anyway, our local libraries won’t let you log onto facebook. As they say it is a chat room. But yet all of the other libraries in all of the counties around Pike County, you can log onto facebook. Here is the even bigger kicker. The Pike County libraries are building a million dollar library in Petersburg. This brings up a point here in Pike County, IN they will build a million dollar library but yet won’t step into the 21st century by allowing you to log onto facebook. Plus how will this affect the smaller libraries in Pike County? Does anyone see the writing on the wall or is it just me?
Now to the Mrs. For the birthdays and anniversaries. Hello all and here are the birthdays in the week of September 29th to October 9th. Angie Schwengel September 29. Eddie Tisdale Jr will have a birthday on September 29th and will be 47 years young. Tyrone Lynn Goodman is celebrating his birthday on September 30th and will be 10 years old. Faye Johns is celebrating a birthday on October 2nd and will be 63 years young. Susie Stillwell is celebrating a birthday on October 2nd and will be 52 years young. Jessie Hatt will be celebrating her 90th birthday on October 3rd. Kristy Bolin will be celebrating a birthday on October 3rd. Ashton J Maxfield will be celebrating a birthday on October 4th and will be 2 years old. Clint Russell will be celebrating his birthday on October 4th. Amy Bolin will be celebrating her birthday on October 6th and will be 35 years young.  Levi Poehlein will be celebrating his 22nd birthday on October 6th. Sharon Culbertson will be 38 years young on October 8th. And last but not least Hope Hall will be celebrating a birthday on October 9th. Now for the Anniversaries from September 29th to October 9th. Gary and Crystal Smith will be married 5 years on October 1st. Amy and Kevin Bolin will be married 9 years on October 1st.

Me and the Mrs. Are getting ready for Halloween and the fun that goes with it. Next week we will decide if we’re going to hold the best spooked up yard within the city limits of Winslow. I will say, this is not looking good!

Rockers, Stars, and Rockstars along with our readers my time is up and I have to go and get ready for next week’s show. SO be good, help out, and rock on!

October 26, 2010

Hey how did your week go? I had an alright past week. And now, myself along with the rest of you, getting ready to rock out with sweetsview. So how about we slide into our backstage area. So we can meet and greet some of our old fans also hoping to meet new fans. All the while thinking you might like the changes we made such as, leaving the paper and trying to make it out here on our own in the big ole world. Looking back would I have changed a thing? Nope! But we do love the things we can do like putting in photos to show you our little part of the world. What? Are you sure? Man, our stagehands rock! As they come up to me and say,  It s ready.â€ You know one day we re going to get you all together and snap a photo. I know most of you don t want that but we talk about it because you all work so hard taking care of us rockers. So here is our round of applause that you all so deserve! Well there s nothing much to say except, time to walk that way towards our stage.

We must hold up a second so the spotlights can be thrown on and this week s turn goes to all of you trick or treaters out there who are getting ready for Halloween. While we re here we want to thank all of you in Winslow, IN who put up Halloween decorations and let us share them with the rest of the world. You all done a  great job.â€ So throw on our spotlights. Killer job.

Now that we re up here on our stage we have to say  Happy Halloweenâ€ and don t eat too much candy! Plus be sage out there. Before we got rockin  too hard I m going to ask a couple of our stars to come up to the front of the stage and they are, our web man Dan. Laura who s fingers rock along with Barb Sweet, Black Beard, The Parrot, Don Payne, Tatter Stew, Wendy Helsley, Vernon, Wormie and the gang, and Judy. I want to thank you all for the kind words about sweetsvivew.com and keep reading. One more thing, help us spread the word about sweetsview.com and help us turn our little rock show into a big time rock show. At last look we were up to 527 hits and that s good for an upstart rock show.

Now what did you think of our posting of postcards? Myself I liked it, something new for ya. We didn t get any postcards in this week so we can t share any new photos of postcards so we re holding at 502. If got one you want to send to us, send it old school way to Sweetsview Winslow, IN 47598 and we will post it on our website to share with the world.

It s time to shine our spotlights onto our little hometown of Winslow, IN to see what s happening. You know it seems like our town don t move much but it does in many small ways. So it s up to you to take in and enjoy the small changes that come to Winslow, IN. one of the new things we have is the Overlook on the Patoka River. All in all it s pretty nice. The Winslow Economics and Development are the ones who got it all together with many helping hands. So to one and all great job!

With Halloween upcoming be safe while you re out and about this Saturday as Winslow gets its spook on. If you looked at our photo gallery we hope you like our pictures and we will keep adding to them.

Over the past week Vernon Arnold took me and the Mrs to a super cool place known as Buffalo Run Farm, Grill and Gifts located on highway 162. It s a cool restaurant but first I must tell ya of the place, it has three log cabins on the spot. One is done up as a school, the other log cabin is done up as a home in which it has a plaque that read,  Abe Lincoln sleep hereâ€ which happened to be Abe s cousins home, it also has a big log barn on it along with a teepee. Its way cool to take in, and yes, me and the Mrs. had a Buffalo Burger and it was awesome! Inside of the Buffalo Grill and Gifts host many cool gifts for you to look at or buy. If you would like more information you can call them at 812-937-2799 and they will be happy to tell you about Buffalo Run.

Here is something you can check out: The first three week-ends in December the Buffalo Run, Grill and Gifts will be hosting Buffalo and Misteltoe. How was Christmas celebrated back in Lincolns  Day, they will have many things going on those week-ends including storytelling by our good friend Vernon Arnold Jr. So give them a call for the times. I m sure it will be worth checking out. So thank you Vernon Arnold for putting us hip to this cool place.

It s flat getting deep readers, stars, and rockstars and you are now wondering just what am I talking about? Wait for it.and nowthe leaves falling off the trees! And just what were you think I was talking about?
How about we get to our backstage area. Got your passes? Cool. Let s roll.
Now that we re here the weather over the past week was just fine, in my book. Even though we could use more rain I hope the temps stay up for I don t like the real cold. But we still have to deal with it. So until then let s enjoy the weather we got. What? You are ready! Our stagehands done a great job at getting our stage ready for us to rock on, so we can move towards the stage. By now you know we have to kick on our spotlights and this week s turn goes to Laura and Dan and the Mrs who all help me rock this for all of you to enjoy. And while we re here have you helped spread the word about sweetsview.com? So more of our fans can find us? Great job gang, but you already know this, right? And it s most appreciated and one day if our show blows up all big it will do in part to you and your help. I m just the Wildman with a vision or nightmare; we re just not for sure! So please let s all climb up on our stage and rock this monster! On a side note it s just a touch strange having a worldwide stage. We are finding our way, we think!
So now it s time to put our spotlights onto our postcards. The 502nd postcard that was sent to us came to us from Washington, D.C. and now we can show you the front of the postcard.

That s cool we can now show you them.  On the back of the postcard it read,  Having a great time in the Washington, D.C./Arlington area. So much to see. It s amazing! On our way to Arlington cemetery and IwoJima Memorial before heading home.â€ Joe and Jennie Uppencamp.

Thank you the Uppencamps  for our 502nd postcard and the first one posted on the web!
If you want to send us a postcard to share with everyone. Send it to Sweetsview Winslow, IN 47598.
Would you please shine those spotlights onto Winslow, IN to see what s going on? That one is way too easy as the most spooked up yards all seem to be in a group around North Street and Bluff Street along with many other yards that have their spook on

Here in the photo with the two young kids are Colby and his sister who help Grandmother Jamie set up her yard. Way to go kids!  Make sure you check out the bottom of the page for more Halloween fun in Winslow, IN.
Ok. Here is a good one for you. Most of us know about the persimmon seed you know like inside of the seed looks like a spoon means heavy snow! This year when we cut open the persimmon seeds it looks like a knife. One person told me that means fair weather, another person told me it means slice through ice. I don t know what that one means myself but none the less the seeds we cut open showed up as a knife. We will see just what the winter will bring but we thought you might like to know just for fun. Thank you Mr. Charlie Norrick for the use of your persimmon seeds! Good luck with the raking of the leaves or you could let the leaves help out your yard.

Hey, what s up, to the gang at The Trading Post, just south of Winslow, IN. If you happen to be traveling through our area check it out it s just good eats.

Oh my! With the coolness all around us let s get into the backstage area. Yes, that s a little bit better, feel free to hang up your jackets and gather around to see what s rockin with sweetsview. First, we were wondering if you have helped us spread the word about sweetsview? Alright, thanks and keep spreading the word. With your help we can turn this thing into a monster one day and don t you like how we all at sweetsview keep growing bit by bit and step by step.
So let s make our way to where we turn on our spotlights. This week I must have the following stars to step up and turn them onso dan, Laura, Barb, and Norm Sweet. Thanks for all of your hard work and for believing in this rock show we call sweetsview. And for keeping us moving in the right direction plus making it fun for our growing fans to take in. So would you all please throw on our spotlights?  Awesome job!â€ So you all take the stage first if you wouldn t mind.
Now that we re up here on our stage would you please put the spotlights on to our postcards? Well, we didn t get any postcards in this week so we re holding at 501 postcards.
Got a postcard or a note you want to send to us at sweetsview? You can mail it to Sweetsview Winslow, IN 47598.

The spotlights can now be put onto Winslow, IN and Pike County IN to see what s going on. That one is easy with fall having its grip on us now with cooler days and much cooler nights and the trees changing colors. We hope you are keeping warm. It does lead to this question,  Who knows where the cold wind blows? I asked all my friends and nobody knows.â€ Wait a second, I know who knows, and that would be our local Eskimo down at the Riverside Park. He was chain sawed out of a tree a year ago.

it s pretty cool looking and does he have a name? Yes, and that name would be Daagoo. Just so you know that the name means guide/leader. The Winslow Lions Club held a contest at our local school to come up with the name of the Eskimo. This year the beaver was chain sawed out of a tree as of yet the beaver has no name.

If you find yourself in Winslow, IN you can check them out at the Riverside Park and take a photo with them.

Here s something cool! Our current awesome State Representative who has always helped out Winslow, Mark Messmer invited us to the last parade of the season coming up this Sunday. Hopefully I can make it there and snag some photos.

Now in the upcoming weeks until Halloween we hope to get some pictures of the Halloween decorations in Winslow, IN and share them with our readers, stars, and rockstars to share in the fun.

Make sure you sign our guestbook plus let us know how we can make it better. We re open for any idea or two. But in the end you know us crazy rockers; we re going to do what we want to do!
Here in Pike County, IN deer season is in and yes there have been some nice deer taken already. To those of you who haven t bagged the big one yet we wish you good luck and Be Careful while hunting.

November 24th, 2010

Sweets view is wishing everyone including our fans, readers, stars, and rock stars a Happy and safe Thanksgiving and of course this warning:  Be smart and do the right thing, don’t drink and drive, it is not worth it!

Looking at our watch we now know its time we get backstage and get things ready to rock.  What a week.  All in all it was good and anytime you can say that it is fine, our stagehands like most of you are doing double duty getting our stage ready and making plans to do up Thanksgiving catching up with family, friends, and even road trips.

By now you can tell as soon were done rocking everyone we will be in the wind so be careful with that. The stagehands come up and let us know its time to make our way towards the stage so “Lets do it.”  We come up to the spot where we turn on our spotlights and this week’s turn goes out to all of the cooks out there who will be doing up the  turkeys for everyone to enjoy.  So cooks please reach up and turn on our spotlights.  “Great job.”Come on let’s take the stage and do it.

Its time to put the spotlights on to our postcards.  We have been stuck at 502 postcards for sometime now with no movement on them.  We’re thinking something’s got to change about that.  For now we are going to leave the postcards in.  But I’m thinking if things don’t change, it could be dropped from sweets view.  So if you want to save the postcards you can do so by sending us your postcards and we will share it with all of you.  The address is sweets view, Winslow IN, 47598. I’m thinking if we don’t have any movement by December 31st well?

Now its time to shoot those spotlights on to our little part of the world.  With thanksgiving about to come.  The Trading Post will be hosting their long time free Thanksgiving dinner on November 24th; it starts at 11am and runs until?  I know for a fact its going to be good and we wish Tom and Happy Vinnedge the best of luck with everything plus thank them for being there and helping out our community throughout the year you are a part of many lives in our community!  Yes, we can’t wait for the good eats!
The Trading Post

And if you are unable to make it on thanksgiving day, the Bob Inn will host their annual free thanksgiving day dinner and we are sure its going to be just as good way to go all of you who are involved at the Bob Inn way to make sure Winslow is covered and has a chance to have a good meal.Yes, sweets view will be at the Trading Post snapping a few photos to share with all of you after that it’s a road trip for us on Thanksgiving Day, it should be a blast and yes, I am looking forward to it.

If you think back I told you of a static discharge that took out our camera.  Thanks to some work I got to do we were able to get us a temporary camera it wasn’t as good as the one we had but it will work for now until we can get a better digital camera.  The one we are using is only seven mega-pixels and it’s not the best.  So until we get a good camera its going to have to work and besides we don’t charge you anything to go to our web site and that’s how we want to do it, but as you can imagine there is a lot of hidden cost getting this website up and running and even more cost keeping it fresh and new every week.

It’s like kicking out a mini newspaper every week without of the bad and sad news that is out there in fact there is so much of it.  Sweets-view just went a different way and we hope you are enjoying it and all of the hard work that goes into it.

And starting at the first of the year you, your family and friends, and businesses will be able to sponsor Sweets-view for a week at a more than fair price we will let all of our fans know about it on the Sweets view.com web site.  More will come later about this as time gets closer.  This will allow us to keep it fresh, growing unlike other web sites ours is family friendly.  Plus you just never know what sweets-view has in store for you for if you miss a week you just might miss something real cool. Here is a thought with us about to say goodbye to another year in a month of so you will soon need a new calendar, boy do we have a good one for you.

The Winslow Lions Club has the calendar you want.  It will give you a laugh all year long as many of the lion’s club members and even some who weren’t help out to pose just for you and you have to see it to believe it and yes its G rated.  If you want to order one you better hurry-up for they are going fast. You can stop by The Trading Post to order one and to check it out.  We will get phone numbers for you next week plus it would be one heck of a Christmas gift that you will use all year long.  Plus it helps out a great group.  The Winslow Lions Club.

Vernon Arnold invited me and the Mrs. to do something that neither one of us have ever heard of or knew of as last Saturday night we went down to Evansville Indiana and found ourselves at Harrison High School to take in a cultural event known as the Diwali Function where they celebrate their big day.  Diwali or Deepavall is the most significant festival in India which celebrated in the fall season.  The word Depavali translates as a row of lamps in the Sanskrit language.  Diwali being the festival of lights, at this event it included many dancers ranging from young children to adults it was quite an expanding of the mind.    Plus it was neat to look and learn about a different cultural other than ours then we had a meal after the event.

Where they made us feel welcome and the food was way different but all in all good and yes a bit spicy.  So now thanks to Vernon Arnold the Mrs. and I are just a bit more aware of the culture of Indiana.  Due to a problem with the new camera we lost those photos of this event we are so sorry.

Do you know sweets view is now on wikipedia.com and in fact here is a kicker before sweets view got a link on it the only other thing on there was the 2000 census information and not even the first photo of Winslow on there.  We all know were up on it now.  Thanks Sweets view technical support for keeping us moving forward plus gang, a video of the Patoka River overlook is now on youtube.com.  We also have links on my facebook.com page as well.

My time is up and I’m making room for the Mrs.’ part of the show.  Hey baby when you’re done can you kill the lights?  See the rest of you later on.

November 17th, 2010

Hang on and watch out for here we go as we park in the lot and make our way to the backstage area. It's kind of wild that all of us are working to make sweetsview.com rock. It's starting to grow & grow and there's no looking back. Now there are our stagehands super busy getting our stage ready. We have a bit of time to say, “How is it going everybody?”  Good I hope!  Over the past week sweetsview had a touch of bad news which left us all feeling sad to say the least. We will fill you in during the show but for now we are trying to keep it together and put on a brave face and rock on.So if this weeks show is a bit flat that’s why.

The stagehands come to me and say “Dude its all ready”  as I take a deep breath it's time we make our way towards the stage. But first we must put on our spotlights.  This week’s turn goes to you, yes you who work behind the little rock show we call sweetsview to all of you who have found us on the web for that’s why we do this! So please throw on our on spotlights and its time we take the stage. You first.

Now that were all  up here its time to put the spotlights on to the postcards that are stuck at 502 big time so help us get out of the rut by sending us a postcard to sweetsview, Winslow Indiana 47598 (You know old school)  and we will share them with you rockers

. Now I am going to ask our techs to kill all of our spotlights except for a single while light and please don’t shine them on but to a empty spot that’s on our stage here is why.

Last Tuesday November 9th 2010 I learned about the passing of my bud.  Mike Dillman what a freaking shock that was, me and Mike went way back from the first time I met him through Greg Poehlein and we all coached at Winslow Little League Baseball and in time Mike and I had even more fun in life from spotlighting, deer hunting, coon hunting, to watch a many Colts football game, and to even buying a limousine together, then watching him go through a heart bypass surgery. Then life pulled us into two different directions and I lost contact with Mike when he moved.  And to this day that’s one I will have to deal with so here is a warning.  If you lost contact with a good friend I am telling you reach out or back but find them because you don’t want to find yourself where I am at now so please.

Saturday I had to say good bye for the final time to Mike Dillman but he will always be a part of me. To Deb Dillman: We are so sorry for your loss. To Shane, Eric, and Bryan: Please keep a close eye on Deb for its going to be a long road. Hearts and wishes go out you that in time may you find your way on the journey that you are now on.

Gang, here is a good one for you, our camera is down, without going into too much detail the camera was a victim of Electrostatic-Discharge causing it to well… kind of die. So sweetsview is scrambling to come up with a digital camera. It should take two weeks to make that happen…we hope. So bear with us and we will be back in no time!  And hey Dave Walker, if you can send those pictures of the Poor Mans Car show to us and we will make sure you get the recognition for your photographs.

“Just where the heck was it?”  Oh yeah, and Tom and Happy of the Trading post are having their annual Thanksgiving dinner on November 24th from 11Am until-? You know its going to be good.  It is their way of giving back to the community.

If you look back on some of the past sweetsview you will find a story about the Heacock family house fire here is a thank you letter she would like me to put on sweetsview.  No problem happy to help

Okay here is something to keep an eye on with the weather now changing towards the cold, make sure you check in on the elderly to make sure they are okay.  Heck for as that goes; you may want to check on us all. Hopefully next week I will be in a better frame of mind. I am heading backstage to prepare for thanksgiving and nets week’s show. So here is the MRS with the birthdays and whatnot.

Hey babe when you are done, could you please turn off out spotlights jam down and rock on good people.

It was a most cool event to take in. Vernon Arnold was the one who talked us into going. So in case you couldn’t make it we hope the pictures and the short video will give you a small sample of this Muster on the Wabash. In the pictures you will find Vernon Arnold he is the gentleman with the cane.

Also the Mrs. was having her book mark made by a fine man by the name of John G Johnson and he is the one in the picture with the Mrs.

.

Here is some of his awesome work that he did, the bookmarks with our name on them. You can follow the Vincennes State Historic sites on Facebook. Pretty cool!

A while ago, I told you I was hunting the meanings of persimmon seed. Well I now have the answer. A spoon means snow, a fork means mild weather, a knife means cold, and the seeds we got showed a knife so we’re up to speed on that.

Could you check the time? I thought so! It is time for us to get backstage. We’re going to have to buy our stagehands some time as they are running a touch slow, they had a lot of Halloween fun. We can do for them so in order to do just that, how have you all been doing? You haven’t forgot to spread the words about sweetsview to your friends? After checking us out we sure could use your help for it’s not about us but it’s about all of you helping us rock this on the world wide stage and trying to keep it fun and just a touch on the wild side. What? You all are done! “Dang,” was quicker than I thought.

December 31st, 2010

Now that Christmas has come and gone we hope you had a good one!
With the New Year about to close in on us how about we get out of the 4 inches of snow we got on Christmas Eve and Christmas. So to those who wanted a White Christmas we got one! Time to shake off the snow from our shoes and get into our backstage area and get ready to rock the last show of 2010, Thank God! Our stagehands almost done which leaves us just enough time to say, “What’s up and how is it going?” See I told you they were almost done for here they are and ready to take us to the stage. Who’s going to turn on the spotlights this week? That would be none other than Father Time for it’s time we say goodbye to Father Time and hello to The Baby New Year. I don’t know about you but I’m ready to say goodbye to 2010. So go ahead Father Time and turn on our spotlights. “Awesome!” Take the stage.

Now that were up here I’m telling you it’s going to be a fast show, so rock and roll here we go. This week we didn’t get any postcards in so we’re holding at number 503. If you want to send us a postcard to share with our fans it goes to Sweetsview Winslow, IN 47598, don’t forget the stamp!
With that out of the way all in all we had a nice little Christmas with family and friends. It doesn’t get much better than that. You will find a couple of shots of the snow that Winslow, IN got, not bad. In case you haven’t seen me in and around Winslow that’s because, you know me, I’m all over the place and then back home again, and you know sometimes it’s good to get away!

So you see I told you it was going to be a fast show for you can’t believe this, I’m done for this week and we’re getting ready for the New Years Eve bash at a secret place that only the rockers and stagehands know where it’s at. It’s like our private party as us at Sweetsview get ready to rock in the New Year, see you in 2011. Don’t drink and drive because we want you alive! Whoa gang you have to check this out, at 10:35pm on December 28th 2010 our hard working computer guy Dan scored a major hit as he punched in sweetsview.com in a Yahoo search engine and out of 13,900,000 guess what number we are? Number 1, that’s right number 1 in the entire Yahoo search. That’s so cool in many ways and now we have all kind of people linking up to us. Wow! That’s big for us and yes Winslow, IN we don’t know how long this will last but it’s something to be shocked about way to go our man Dan that’s “Awesome” could it be we are well on our way? Now only time holds the answer.

Slide, slide, slide that’s what we here in Winslow, IN were doing over the past week due to a ¼ inch of ice that came over the past week.
Time to get out of the cold and into our backstage area where it’s warmer and not so slick.
Yes, that’s much better. I was ready to charge the stage but the stagehands are holding me up for a few. So while they are busy doing up our stage we hope you all got through this past week okay and you didn’t fall too many times, as far as me, I, took two spills. (Thanks Ice). Luckily no damage was done other than being a little sore.

What? The stagehands are here taking us to the stage. Alright, let’s roll! Who gets to turn on the spotlights? This week’s turn goes to Santa and all of his many elves who help spread the cheer of Christmas. Awesome Job! Let’s rock the stage so we can get to Christmas. Now that we’re all up here 1, 2, 3, Merry Christmas to each and every one of our fans of sweetsview. We hope you get what you want for Christmas. As far as us there’s no doubt the lump of coal is on the way (Ha-ha). Here at sweetsview we’re hoping for more fans that pick up on and check out sweetsview for there’s a ton of hard work that goes into this every week. You know here is a strange things, I’ve got 315 friends on Facebook. I was wondering have you all checked out sweetsview. Last week I told you that I’ll try to catch you with some things in sweetsview “Gotcha” for last week I didn’t tell you about the postcards. How many of you caught that? I would say not many. This week sweetsview got its first official postcard for the others were from sweets column postcards. But this one is the first. Now the rest of the postcard read, “Thought we would send you a postcard from Santa Claus, IN! Oh, yeah, we also did see Santa!!! So here is your postcard!!! From??? P.S. You can’t guess by the handwriting”

I’ve got a guess but I think it could be wrong but I’m thinking Vernon Arnold but it’s got more to do with the smiley face that was on the postcard. So I’ve dug through some other postcards for they hold the clue but that’s going to take a little time. Hunting am I? Join in on the postcard fun and send one to Sweetsview Winslow, IN 47598 and we will share it with our fans. Why sweetsview has some fans we received by regular mail some pictures of The Poor Man’s’ Car Show from one Mr. Dave Walker from Gibson County IN. Even though I never met the man and only knew of him through the mail. Just last Tuesday the man (Dave) caught up with me like always I have two or three things at once I’m working on like most of you, and I always fighting time but anyway me and Dave Walker did get to talk a bit and then Dave said he took some pictures of Christmas lights at two locations in Gibson County, IN. One is at Lafayette Park, former highway department location and round about North Embrae and Brumfield St looking into Lafayette Park. Why think you Dave and yes sweetsview will be proud to share your photos with our fans. Then Dave asked us if he could from time to time send us photos and we could use them in sweetsview. We had to tell Dave we couldn’t pay him. Then Dave said no problem so now sweetsview can add Dave to our contributing photographers. So as the song goes Welcome, welcome to the machine also thank you Dave Walker for the pictures and the help.

The Winslow Lions Club was hard at work over the past two weeks plus getting things ready for “Christmas for the Kids” as some Winslow Lions who range in all groups hid out at The Trading Post behind the door and got toys wrapped, bags of candy made up, black lights, every Christmas lights, and decorations that we could scrape up and put to use all under the carful eyes of Santa’s Elves and it looked awesome. We hope you got to see it! This was one of  the most hard working and fun things I feel that The Winslow Lions Club and The Trading Post put on, for if you could have seen all the smiles on the faces of the kids and even parents it couldn’t but help warm your heart. Vernon Arnold was great at storytelling as the kids waited for their turn to see Santa. Santa and his helper were busy making sure the kids got their picture for all of the ones who got their picture took you can log onto www.reed.organicsdaily.com to see all of Santa’s visitors and they were just over 200 kids of all ages to 1 week to 12 years old girls and boys. Even though it’s going to be a little ruff Christmas for sweetsview it sure warmed our hearts and put a smile on our face and even gave us a touch of Christmas spirit seeing all the faces light up. It all was worth it for isn’t that what it’s all about anyway? From where I’m at I can easily say yes and at the end of the day I and the Mrs just loved it!

Before I head backstage and make room for the Mrs everyone here at sweetsview Laura, Kyana, Dan H., Norm and Barb Sweet wish you all a very Merry Christmas even though you may not have a lot you do matter to us and if you think real hard you may have a lot more than you think, it’s not always about the material things it’s about so much more. Dig deep and smile and try to spread a little cheer! Now here’s the Mrs

December 15th, 2010

Scrape, scrape, scrape is the sound that we are hearing outside of the area as the snow last Sunday fell on Pike County, IN. Here in Winslow, IN we got about 3 inches at press time. Alright Old Man Winter you are not supposed to be here yet, not until December 21st. You know next Tuesday and by the way you can miss us and it won’t bother us at all!

How about we get out of this mess and get into our nice and warm backstage area? Much better, don’t worry just throw your coats up on the hooks the will be alright. With our stagehands busy getting us all set up, we have a few minutes to get caught up.  I just want to thank everyone who wished me a Happy Birthday, all 108 plus of you. WOW! Also the range of people who done this was all over the place from our current State Representative Mark Messmer and his most kind wife Kim; to Bryon Douglas, my man who got the weather for us at 14wfie; to all of the many super cool people who know me in and around Winslow, and also to my daughter and son-in-law, and of course, the Mrs. Oh yeah, Thanks Tom and Happy! You all made this old man smile. Ha-ha. Yes let’s not forget my stagehands.

Speaking of your stagehands, they are here to take us to the stage. “Let’s Rock!” But first we have to kick on our spotlights. This week’s turn goes to Laura, dan, and Kyana H. for making sure sweetsview has pictures. I will explain later on. So go ahead and reach up and turn them on. Rock on Gang! Great Job! So let’s storm the stage!

Is everyone here on the stage? We’ve got plenty of room for you. You know me, I try to keep you all on your toes to see what you catch or what you miss, heck I even miss junk, but sweetsview is now a little over 3 months old, at last count which was last Saturday we have had 804 hits on our website. Here at sweetsview we’re pretty dang proud and also shocked. So don’t let up, keep spreading the word about sweetsview, it’s a fun website and it’s all of ours in a way! But hats off to Laura and dan and all of you who check us out, for as me it’s a lot more fun than just writing the column because we can put in pictures, videos, and within the next few months music. Also maybe, a want ad page where you can place ads with us, but that’s later on. There are things sweetsview is working on behind the scenes but of course, it takes time and money. Don’t forget after the 1st of the year, you will be able to sponsor sweetsview for a week for just $20.00. We will include pictures of your business, family, group, or even just a picture of you, after the first of the year. We will let you know how.

Now it’s time to tell you about what my daughter, Laura, and my son-in-law, dan, did for me. If you think back we had a video camera go down on us. Ouch that wasn’t cheap. So in order to make sure we have pictures for you on sweetsview we scraped up $40 and bought a cheap digital camera and it worked out pretty good for a while. Until, when I went to give Dan the pictures for last week’s sweetsview that’s when I found out that somehow the LCD screen cracked, maybe due to some real cold weather I was in and here’s the kicker, I was careful with the camera. You can only imagine the words I was saying, but luckily you don’t have to hear them. Aren’t you glad? Anyway, I was wondering just how in the heck I am going to get pictures from us so you can view them on the website. Well gang, thanks to Laura and Dan they scraped up some cash and got me another camera that will work for now until we can get a better camera. Who knows when that will be? So a monster Thank You to Laura and Dan for the camera for I was flat out of cash...So enjoy the snow pictures that I took in and around the crib. But you know I have an awesome film camera that would cost a lot, the way I shoot pictures, for you all to see. Hey, if I was a good boy Santa might bring me one! Well that boat sailed out to sea, so I will keep trying to scrape up some cash or maybe something will happen that I don’t see happening. So we will keep shooting with what we got...The Winslow Lions Club on December 19th will be hosting “Christmas for the Kids” where Pike County kids can come to The Trading Post from 2pm-5pm where kids from the age of newborn to 12 years old can come and get a story told to them, a picture with Santa, and a gift along with a bag of treats. Way to spread the Christmas cheer Winslow Lions Club. I know for a fact it should be fun because there’s a ton of work the Lions Club has done to make it fun for the kids. What an awesome act of kindness.

What? My time is up already? Why, okay. Well Merry Christmas everyone from all my readers, stars, and rockstars here at sweetsview and my friends on Facebook, I have to go and make room for the Mrs and her events, birthdays, and anniversaries. Plus I have to get ready for next week’s show. So it’s all you’re the Mrs. P. S. Babe, kill the lights when you’re done.

December 9th, 2010

Now that’s all uncalled for! More on that later. Here in Southern Indiana we got dusted by Old Man Winter over the past week and the temperatures also took a drop down low into the teens. Easy there Old Man Winter. Your time is coming so just take it easy.

Time to leave this stuff to the Old Man Winter and get into the warmth and friendly confines of the backstage area. Yes, that’s much better with our stagehands as busy as Santa’s Elves getting things ready for all of us this gives us a chance to say Merry Christmas to all of you who stop in and check out sweetsview we are glad you did. Plus this thought it’s not about what you get it’s about what you give with your time and kind acts this time of the year.

Ho, Ho, Ho, you guys are ready for us to take the stage? Awesome job stagehands and let’s rock this. So now it’s time to turn on our spotlights. This week’s turn goes to The Winslow Lions Club who are super hard at work getting Santa’s Room ready for the Pike County kids we will have the rest of the details next week. I can tell you it will be held December 19th from 2pm – 5pm at The Trading Post and trust me from storytelling to pictures with Santa the kiddies will be having a good time. Sweetsview will be there shooting pictures of the fun to share with all of you and who knows maybe Santa will let us take one with him. Way to roar Winslow Lions Club so paw on your spotlights. Great Job!

I’m going to charge our stage for a change. Are we all up here? Good. Here we go. So look out below! I think you all forgot how to send us a postcard. Come on. Kidding you. We didn’t get any in this week. So we are holding at 502 postcards. Time to move on to a different part of the show. Caught ya. Here is our address Sweetsview Winslow, IN 47598. We can kick it now. Over the past week our good friend and long time reader and rocker “Haha” Dave Walker sent us those pictures of the Poor Man’s Car Show.

At the last festival in Winslow. We also learned that Dave was a touch under the weather and also wished me a Happy Anniversary on my 29th Birthday again. Good one Dave, you know I can just barely remember 29 but that’s not due to my age but due to many “other” reasons and the wild times in St. Louis. At least I made it through but not in the best of shape. Thank you for the photos and wishes.

Oh, hey good people and stars. Something has run through my mind, I know there is much room up there, anyway so here it is. With all the craziness in the world it’s up to all of the small stars in the world to ban together and make it a better place and even if you don’t have a pile of money, you do have kindness that you can show and use it during this time of year, even though you should us it all of the time.
If you think back or scroll up you can find out just what was all uncalled for with my time running out I can now tell you the Grim Reaper came by and took a slash at me, he missed I know too bad right? But anyway in missing me he did tact another year on to me. In case you don’t follow me here. This entire means is I’m now 53 years old. I find myself wondering to be happy or sad. It beat the alternative. I guess but I’m happy of every grey hair that I have I never thought I would have made it this far, and the woman I call wife so even though I don’t have the big money I’m rich in other ways, a good woman, a place to lay my head, a cool daughter, a wild granddaughter, a most cool son-in-law, and some of the most awesome friends that one could have. So by the way I see it at least in my world. It’s good.
Before we roll and rock on out of here last Saturday Winslow held its Christmas day parade, and yes, it was small and a touch on the cool weather. It was nice and all the same.

But sadly, I couldn’t make it to the Petersburg Parade due to time crunch. To keep you in the Christmas spirit here are a few more Christmas decorations for us to share with you here from Winslow, IN. Well, readers, stars, and rockstars my time is up. So I can make room for the Mrs. and her birthdays and anniversaries. She wants to share with you. So have a good week and now here is the Mrs. don’t forget to turn off our spotlight babe. Taryn Houchin will be celebrating a belated birthday on November 29th. Cliff Claridge will be 43 years young on December 4th.William Turner will be 25 years young on December 5th.Diane Bailey will be celebrating a birthday on December 8th.Phillip Schroering will be 26 years young on December 8th.Cody Reavis will be 21 years young on December 8th.Todd Williams will be 40 years young on December 8th.Norm Sweet will be 53 years young on December 8th.Tara Meyer will be 26 years young on December 8th.Denver Barrett will be 83 years young on December 9th.Kim Messmer will be celebrating a birthday on December 9th.Eric Messmer will be celebrating a birthday on December 9th.Josh Tindall will be 27 years young on December 9th.Shane Dillman will be 23 years young on December 10th.Isiah Travis will be 7 years old on December 10th. December 1st, 2010

Here at sweetsview hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving no matter where in life it found you this year. How about we gather up in our backstage area as our stagehands have made it back to our stage all safe and warm. While getting things all set up for us to rock out and here is the best part, we didn’t have to post bail for anyone, for our crew didn’t drink and drive. Awesome everyone and thanks for listening.

With all that being said we are wondering if you’re ready to take the stage? For our stagehands are here and ready to take us to the stage. Man! Boys and girls are you fast! Alright, we have reached the area where we turn on our spotlights. And this week’s turn goes to all of you who made sure the ones who could use a Thanksgiving meal got one. May this kind act be returned to you many times over.  Please reach up and turn on our spotlight. Great job! And here is our way of saying thanks; would you please take the stage first?

Our spotlights are now shining on the postcards. No movement!! So we are holding at 502 postcards. Got one you want to send? It would go to Sweetsview Winslow, IN 47598. Don’t forget to put a stamp on it.

Time to move the spotlights onto Winslow, IN to see what’s going on. Where to start? Ok, let’s look back for a second. I told you sweetsview would be at The Trading Post helping out with their Thanksgiving dinner. Below you will find pictures for The Trading Post and the work before the dinner and the dinner itself. We hope you enjoy the pictures plus it was fun to help out and then enjoy the fine cooked meal.

To The Trading Post, Tom, Happy, and all the others who helped out. We hope you got to see all the good work you done and all the people who enjoyed it.

We all heard the Bob Inn also done an awesome job helping Winslow get their Thanksgiving day meals, you all deserve a pat on the back and a job well done be told to you.

I guess sweetsview can now wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Starting this week and throughout the Holiday Season sweetsview will share some Christmas lights and Christmas decorations in and around Winslow and Pike County IN for you all to enjoy. It’s just our way of sharing our little part of the world with all of you are fans, readers, starts, and rockstars.

If you happen to look at sweetsview counter we had 750 stars look at our website. First we thank each and every one of you who have checked it out and make sure you check in every week for it’s always changing with stories for you and pictures to take in. Like I said before it’s like it’s our own mini newspaper every week without all of the bad news. We are counting on you to help spread the word about sweetsview. Our counter also lets us know where some of our hits are coming from like Dallas, TX, Toledo and Dayton, OH, Richmond, Indianapolis, Evansville, Winslow, Petersburg, Stendal, IN just to mention a few. So let’s keep it rolling and growing with your help for it’s up to us to turn this thing into a monster. But you do have to admit 750 hits in a little over 3 months and maybe we will hit the big 1,000 mark before the end of the year. Maybe?

The Winslow Lions Club has the calendar you want for the New Year. It’s only $10.00 and you can get one from any Winslow Lions Club member. I’m hoping they will let me put a picture of the front of the calendar on sweetsview. It does two things, “Make you laugh”, and “help out a most worthy group The Winslow Lions Club.” They also help out the community.

You know I haven’t hassled or even harassed one of our many sweetsview friends that would be our State Rep Mark Messmer and his fun family. So here is where I say, “What’s up Messmers?” Plus we want to tell Kim and Eric we hope, like me, you will have a good day on “your day.”

I’m getting the look from the Mrs letting me know my time is up for this week so Rock on good people. I’m going to leave you in the good hands of the Mrs don’t forget to turn off the spotlights when you’re done!
