I have the honor respectfully to
request a leave of absence for thirty (30) days.
Since my enlistment, three
years and five months ago, I have never had a leave of absence,
or been off
of duty a day.
My affairs at my home, after so long an absence
seem to
absolutely require my presence,
and business of importance, which can be
attended to only by myself,
also demands my presence there.
Respectfully
Your Obd't Servant.
