Still no mail this week. USPS sucks. Moving to a full Hookp site for the next two weeks. Will be near the water and hopefully get to see some "Famous Key West Sunsets." Leaving here on the 20th March for a 7 day stay in Mayport Florida, anoter former duty station.

Well here I am a month later. The weather is warm and nice compared to Pennsylvania. Have not been getting my USPS Mail as it is to be forwarded from Dover PA to Key West Fl General Delivery.. This poses a real problem as far as getting my essential bills.... Credit Cards, Electric, Phone etc...... A real Pain. Fishing sucks so far but we will be doing it again next week, Maybe it'll be better then. Have been Jamm'in with a couple of folks in the RV park here.. Banjo picker and a guitarist....I am Painting a scene on a Coconut to bring home as a memento of the trip. We have a Phone card for our long distance calls but the phone company is ripping us off an additional 33 that's Thirty Three minutes for each call made from a pay phone. Regardless if he call is only one minute, wrong number or what ever. If a connection is made at the other end ----there goes another 33 minutes off the card total available . There is also a 30 second spiel that you must listen to trying to say it is the FCC's fault they are getting rich on us. Just like the cost of fuel. The greatest insult is that these companies believe we are stupid enough to believe what ever justification they use to steal more money from us.. Where the hell is Robin Hood ?????

We were over in town this afternoon walking around one of the streets where there was a craft show going on.... I spied and heard a man and woman playing music at a little outdoor cafe and went to listen to them.(BoB on the trumpet & Vocals and Laura on the drums) After chatting with them I was invited to play, so I did "Bill Bailey" with them.. It was great fun and I didn't screw up too much so they appeciated it and then I went on. "Who was that masked man wearng a Greek Fisherman's Cap????" It's 4:30 pm Saturday (hard to believe that a week has passed since we arrived) . The weather is great and there is about a 10 mph breeze. No TV though since most all the folks here have sattelite dishes and we don't. Well it's all ADs anyway and the news is mostly bad so I'll just bury my head in the sand in paradise for a few weeks and hope a TSUNAMI doesn't strike. Later

Weather is good but Water Heater failed and had to replace the Circuit Board. $115.00 and a 22 nile run up and back the keys later we again had hot water. Was cold and windy Last Sunday but is supposed to warm up this week into the weekend but be windy. Now I have wireless Broadband here on the base and can get on the internet whenever I like.. Faster than when back home and half the price. Would post pictures but it takes up space on my free storage with angelfire so I am keeping it to a minimum to make this blog last as long as I can. Later !!!

Well we arrived safely and just after a big 3 day blow.... The weather was nice for 2 more days then another windy Cold 2 days...now Tuesday and on it is supposed to warm up. I have already met someone here at the... base to JAM with . Plays the keyboard....Gloria is already winning (and sharing) at BINGO. Just got on the Wireless net here on the base....It's cheaper than back home. Said Hello to Big Pine Key on the way down for Kelli!

Damn! it's cold here 20 this morning with an inch of snow.....Hope to be out of here tomorrow and head South. RV is staged out front and we are loading up,,,,,,have to keep the heat on to keep stuff from freezing up. Next posting should be from Key West.

Well, it's a new year.....
The Christmas Tree is now put away but here's how the scene looked last week. Now we are getting ready for the Key West Adventure.

At the risk of dating myself I can state that I was listening to Steel Bands in Trinidad before Jimmy Buffet was even born!

Since digital Photography with my Canon 300 EOS Rebel is also one of my interests I may include pic.s from time to time as I document my upcoming trip to Key West. Gloria and I were stationed there during the 60's and I was on a Destroyer based out of there and involved in the Cuban episode. Had the brief opportunity to meet the then Commander in Chief, JFK when he came aboard to visit his former Harvard classmate Cap'n Weller
(the Saufley's Commanding Officer).
