This page is for the late Pov Thoj who passed away back in mid January of 1999 in Thailand. Many people consider Pov to be Hmong's best singer.
Pov Thoj, was born in the city of Phousan, Thailand in 1972. He grew up with a voice that he later used to make him a pop star. In the mid 1990s, he started the first of his 8 international albums. Overall, he has completed 10 albums. The first and the last were not included into his 8 international albums.
In the early 1990s, he got married to his wife, Paib Vwj, they had two children.
Shortly after his final album (Lub Neej Ntsuag) and movie (Txhob Yuam Kev Hlub), which gained him international fame, he died on January 17, 1999.
Today, there are still many of his fans wandering what caused his death. There were rumors going around during his death. Many say that Su Thao (Producer for all Pov Thoj's films), and his wife Paib Vwj planned to poison Pov before he can live to see his fame.
Pov's music albums and movies will live with his fans forever.
To me, I prefer to remember the way he lived. I would like to thank him for his songs and movies.
