Wolfman Jack

Wolfman Jack

Wolfman Jack... Mercy!

He was the best!

I once heard him blasting the airways from a station in Del Rio Texas. I was on a road trip in Ohio about 11:30 PM.

Yes, he is gone now but I feel he would have fit right in at the Diablo Horror Flicks. Since he loved to howl at the moon just like the Wolfman on the screen.

Yea, he was the Man. He is gone now but not forgotten by this observer.

Wurlitzer Jukeboxes in the old Canal Zone were works of art. We could listen to the music for hours and hours while hanging out at the clubhouse. Yes life was easy...

Wolfman Jack in American Graffiti........

The movie American Graffiti by George Lucas brought back the era of 50's and 60's when drive-ins, cruis'in, rock 'n' roll, jukeboxes, making out, horror features at Diablo, listening to the radio when parked and Wolfman Jack was a part of all the action. Yes it was a carefree time when living was easy...

Wolfman Jack in my book was on the edge of evolution. We who grew up with with him will always remember how good this Disc Jockey made us all feel. Plus he always played great music.

Wolfman Jack in my book was the best Disc Jockey ever. There is a book out in which you can read more about this party animal of the airways.

Here I am at Camp Moffet at US Navy Recruiting Training Center (Boot Camp) at Great Lakes. It is north of Chicago and only a short ride on the L-train. I did my first Liberty in the US Navy in Chicago. We had a real blast! I can remember it as if it were only yesterday. The year was 1958. On our time off we would listen to Wolfman Jack spin the music of the 50's and the 60's.

I hoped you have enjoyed this trip
back in time to the carefree years of the 50's and 60's
when one of my favorite DJ's on the radio was Wolfman Jack.
