OUR PROUD SPIRIT

In Loving Memory of Voss July 28, 1988 to Sept. 6, 1998

So proud and bold, on top of the world. That's how you came to us and our friendship unfurled. Independent and distant, there appeared no need To interact with us, nor our authority to heed. Fearful and nervous were my feelings for you after hearing of past things you'd been known to do. Defiant and in charge of your world over mine but a bond would be made, it would just take time. As the years past we would watch you out there prancing around with your "prize" and no cares. Warm feelings arose and an understanding too. The fear went away and we grew to love you. The years would pass and as situations arose our bond would deepen and only God knows how much of a mark you would leave on my life or how your death would cut through like a knife. Your physical health began to fail you though mentally you did all you could do. It wasn't your time just yet to cross over yet here you now lay amidst the back clover. Pats hatred of you hastened your departure; you felt the same for him, of this I'm sure. It's now over for you, your time to rest has come. And the meadows will now your home become. Restored to your youth and healthy once more. Where muscles and hip joints will never be sore. Where the "job" of the day will just be to play or to lay in the sun and enjoy the suns rays. So romp once more forgetting days of old. Hold you head up again, be proud and bold. Let the meekness fade that ended your days and know, in our hearts, you'll be remembered always!
