In Loving Memory of Sandy
Sandy Aug. 1990 - May 8th, 2002
Sweet, Gentle, Loving
In rescuing her,
She blessed us!
We rescued her out of the pound when she was just a little puppy. She was destined to be put down that very day. But we had other plans for her. We almost lost her to Corona, the sister disease to Parvo, when she was a puppy. But she bounced back to enjoy life for almost 12 years, with no incidents of illness in between.
Then came the day when she would stop eating and soon to be followed by bringing up fluid - probably from the lungs. Per her examination her blood pressure was through the roof showing itself in the beet red blood shot eyes and beet red gums. Her lungs were filling with fluid, the sack around her heart was filling with fluid, her abdomen was filling with fluid and she had a tumor both in her chest area and down around the spleen. She was given 1 month at most to live.
The day I dreaded most was now here. Because I love her so much and because she was such a sweet and gentle spirit that only brought a smile to my face and a warm feeling to my heart, I knew I had to let her go. So with sedation she was sent on her way to be reunited with Ike. They use to love to play together.
She'll be sorely missed. Though she was a quiet presence, it was one to enjoy and she left a mark on our lives that will never be forgotten. For she would be that gentle breeze that you feel on a spring day, or that ray of sunshine after a rain shower. Their presence felt more than seen.
She'll be a nice touch to Rainbow Bridge and all who are there. I'm sure for the others of our crew that have gone on ahead, they'll be happy to see her and for those that come after her she'll be eager to show them around while they wait for the day when we can all reunite.
