Do you know I love you?
Did I tell you so?
I know I didn't get the chance
before you had to go.

Your health had sadly failed you,
your strength had ebbed away.
And yet within my selfish heart
I wish you could have stayed.

I'll miss your special laughter,
I'll miss my talks with you.
Without you here my memories
will have to see me through.

It all still seems a nightmare,
one I wish to wake up from.
But in my head I know it's true,
your time has truly come.

So walk with God and be at peace,
for you've surely earned your rest.
And know that you'll be in our hearts,
for you were loved. You were the best!
