Short Bio

I know everyone who will visit this site will probably know who I am, but just in case, here follows a short bio on who I am.

My name is Mindy Raye Holmes and I am 19-years-old. I grew up in a town called San Jacinto which is in southern California. If you don’t know where that is click here and notice where the red star is. After finally escaping, I mean graduating from San Jacinto High School in June of 2002, I spent a whole summer doing absolutely nothing. In the fall I started as a freshman at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.

For Christmas 2002, I finally received the digital camera that I had been wanting for a long time. Since then I have taken a bunch of pictures, which I have compiled here. The links on the left will take you to the various pictures and give you a little bit of a glance into my life.

Okay, here follows the real bio part that those who know me well do not have to read. I was born in Fontana, California and moved to San Jacinto when I was four-years-old. There are eight people in my family including my parents, my five siblings, and myself. My siblings are 21, 20, 17, 14, and 13 respectively. My oldest sister is a senior at UCSD and my older brother is on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Rochester, New York. My younger brother is a senior at SJHS, my sister is a freshman at SJHS and my youngest brother is in 8th grade at North Mountain Middle School. And yes, my parents have three boys and three girls, no Brady Bunch jokes necessary or welcome.

In high school I was involved in enough things to keep me very busy. I was a proud member of the Royal Tiger Brigade, which produced some of the best memories of my life. I also played in the jazz band, was on the tennis team, the academic decathlon team, and involved in drama. Amid all these activities, I also maintained a 4.21 GPA and graduated second in my class. Wow that paragraph sounds really braggy, oh well, I prefer not to rewrite.

Last year at BYU I lived in the dorms, which was a very interesting and rewarding experience. I made some really awesome friends there, and would not trade my on-campus living experience for anything. I was a member of the BYU 50th ward and the 12th stake, both of which I absolutely loved. Classes last year were not always my favorite thing, and I sometimes wish I could go to college without having to go to class, but that's the point of college.

After finishing my first year of college with a depressing 3.53 GPA, I went back home for the most boring summer of my entire life. I was supposed to get a job, but yeah, like that really happened. By the time August rolled around, I was soooooo ready to get back to college, and I finally did so.

So now here I am living in an off-campus apartment, and now I'm a big sophomore. I finally got into my major in November, so now I actually have a declared major which is Communications with an emphasis in Print Journalism. Right now I’m just trying to get through the semester and maybe one day I will be done with this thing they call college.
