No One is Watching
It’s like the tear that you cry when no one is watching.
Steaming against your face and slowly
disappearing into nothing.
With every tear things get darker and deeper.
Internal pain turns to eternal pain.
Aching, haunting, deepening.
Slowly you can feel your soul slipping into the night.
You pray for the light that you once knew.
Not understanding why you don’t have it.
Everything is finally right and now you can fall apart.
Strength comes from an unknown source.
Why are you still here?
Life is not what it was.
Life is not what you wanted.
And, yet, you hold on.
Why?
The hope that darkness will fill you.
You know him, he is love, he is everything.
You wait wanting him.
Why?
Because he loves you.
It’s like the tear that you cry when no one is watching.
It slides down porcelain cheeks leaving a trail of black.
The only warmth you’ve felt in weeks.
Coldness is like a drug, all consuming and addictive.
He is warmth, he takes the tears away.
He is gone.
Not for forever, but for now.
It starts again, worse, colder, more painful.
Hopeless, thoughtless, empty.
Draining dreams become less than reality.
Today is gone again.
Tomorrow is another day,
another day closer to finding him again.
Maybe his secret will come out,
maybe everyone will learn,
maybe you’ll disappear,
like the tear that you cry when no one is watching.
