Dark Moon
The dark moon rises
as the sun sets in my soul.
Taken over with shadows,
my heart feels cold.
His words echo in my head
like an endless lightening strike.
Questioning everything I am,
I know, I feel inside.
Tomorrow brings new hope,
I hope, burying a memory.
A misty dream of yesterday
and what was meant to be.
Dark as coal, black as night,
clichés until the bleak obscurity is right.
So, I wipe my blood red tears
and try to ignore my deepest fears.
I watch the dark moon
rise as the sun sets in my mind.
Tomorrow I will fest again
on the pain that is now mine.
