developing the core organization plan. And I'm excited about continuing
this tradition again in 2001 and increasing my donation this
year!
I originally created the email along the lines of the
chain-emails you've probably received -- "Response and Bill Gates will
send you $1 million!" However, I posted my letter on my web site to give
it legitimacy. The initial 25 emails to my family, friends and co-workers.
Within an hour I received four (4) emails of praise -- from people I never
met! My friends and family had forwarded the email on and those people
contacted me directly to support my cause ... giving me the support to
continue the campaign and Mommy's Light.
The rest is
history!
How It Works
The
concept is simple -- use the form below to send my letter to as many
people as you want. It costs nothing and takes just a few minutes of
time.
The email explains all of this and asks that the recipient
come to the web site and do the same. If they do, I'll donate $1.00 to
Mommy's Light, in your name, for each person you referred! If 25 of
your friends send out at least one email to someone, I will donate $25.00
to Mommy's Light in your name! That's it ... nothing else required on your
part.
** Important **: You will not receive an email by
Mommy's Light or anyone else! I will not distribute this list to anyone
and will destroy it when I repeat this process next year.
But Why?
I've been asked many times, "Why do
you do this?" It's simple -- I made a pledge to the founder, Mary, before
she died and that was to make sure Mommy's Light grows and continues to
support children who have lost their mothers. If I can raise awareness
about this organization, receive one donation, recruit one volunteer -- or
reach one family who needs us -- I've succeeded!

to roll around and we should all take the time to remember our
mothers -- and those that have lost theirs.

in the 3rd Annual Mommy's Light Lives On Fund Email Campaign -- an
email-only campaign designed to 1) raise awareness about this worthy
non-profit organization and 2) generate contributions or
volunteers.

This organization begins with Mary S. Murphy...
Very few
people cross our paths in life that leave a profound mark -- once
such person was Mary S. Murphy of Pennsylvania. I met Mary when she
came into the oncology practice I was managing -- beautiful,
outgoing, and an incredible smile that was
infectious.
Unfortunately, Mary was diagnosed with terminal
cancer that day. Throughout her course of treatment with us I saw
Mary continue to fight until her last day, knowing that she had a
son she was leaving behind. Mary decided to leave her legacy behind
by creating a nonprofit organization to continue the mother/child
traditions after the mother was gone.
Her first project was
to feed and cloth migrant workers through the help of Catholic
Social Services in Kennett Square, PA. Although very sick, Mary
organized her troop of volunteers, including myself, to provide hot
drinks and nourishing food as the workers stood in the cold weather,
many with nothing more than a sweater on their back. She continued
to clothe each one with not only the essentials but clothes for
interviewing and bettering themselves. She didn't stop there -- she
was able to provide an incredible Christmas for a family of kids who
had just lost their mother weeks prior! When she asked them what
they would miss most, they said it was Christmas -- and Mary
provided that.
I'm asking for your support in a growing,
non-profit organization called Mommy's Light Lives On Fund
that was created by Mary after being diagnosed with terminal cancer.
Her mission: "To bring joy to children by keeping alive traditions
and simple pleasures they shared with their mother."
Mommy's Light has made many stride's in bringing it's
founder's vision to life but they need your help. There are many
ways to pitch in:
- Volunteer: For those who live in PA, just a few short
hours here and there is all it takes to fulfill a child's wish --
and it costs nothing!
- Donation: For those who live outside of PA, or the
surrounding area, your donations will help a mother's memory
survive for her children -- something irreplaceable and priceless!

forward your copy to EVERYONE YOU KNOW! Post the URL and message
on websites, message boards, newsgroups... As the webmaster of

our website to generate this letter and continue this campaign!
