1. What made you decide to make dolls?
A few years ago a friend of mine got me hooked on dollmakers. For the longest time I thought hand-drawn dolls looked really weird, but eventually I gave in and ended up switching to making them instead!
2. How long have you been dolling?
I started with drag-n-drops around two and a half years ago, but I've only really done hand-drawn dolls for about a year.
3. How long have you had your site?
A little over two years, I'd say.
4. What programs do you use to make your dolls?
I used to only use MS Paint, but then I started using PSP7, and a little bit of Adobe Photoshop.
5. What bases do you like to use most?
I love bases from the Doll on the Hill Factory, but I'm a big fan of Angy Chan's and Random Doodles bases, too.
6. Do you think that there is any way you could improve or are you happy with your dolls?
Recently I've started really getting into pixel-shading, and I've got a lot to learn with that. Shading in general is probably what I need to work on the most, as well as adding details to simply make the dolls more interesting.
7. How long does it take you to make your dolls usually?
I take forever! An average doll can take around five hours to do, even several days if the outfit is complex.
8. What tips do you have for other dollers?
I really recommend joining some sort of dolling forum. Getting to know other dollers and seeing how they do things can often help a lot. Forums also tend to have places to announce contests or challenges you can enter, which are great if you're having trouble coming up with ideas for new dolls. Xandorra's forum The Gathering (http://gathering.bluedaffodil.co.uk) has definitely helped me out a lot!
