What Hayley meant to me was more than just a friend, we were more like sisters. Most of the best times I've ever had in my life involved Hayley. She was really fun and didn't care if she was acting silly.
I have a lot of memories that I will remember forever of all the good times we had.
August 1, 2000 we took off to Vancouver to see Hanson play in concert. We went and shopped on Robson all day, and even though she was 'playing it cool', I know she had the gitter-bugs in her tummy. I did too. It was just an exciting day. At the concert I don't think our smiles ever came off our faces, we were just happy to be there. I'll always remember Hayley laughing at me when the girl next to me grabbed the binoculars that were hanging off my neck and almost choked me. From that time on she wouldn't let me go to the aisle seat because she didn't want the teenybopper to kill her.
A really really really long time ago I remember (when I still lived in Falkland) Hayley and Les came over to go taboganning with me in my yard. We went for hours and hours climbing that hill and going down again, it was great. I remember Hayley got stuck in the fence and she thought it was funny and tried to get stuck everytime she went down. So we tried to play a prank on my Dad and say she was stuck in the fence and she couldn't get out. It would have worked if Hayley wasn't laughing so hard.
Another one of my favourite memories with her is when she came to my grad. I think she was more excited than I was. I remember asking her on the phone if she wanted to come and she didn't believe me that I was going to let her and her mom come. But they did come. I couldn't have had anyone better than the two of them to share my 'big day' with. It was a really exciting day and I am grateful that Hayley and Kathy got to spend it with me.
I remember how Hayley hated pink. Until one day at the mall in Kamloops I had to convince her that pink was her colour. She wanted this style of shirt and there was about six different colours. She wanted to try them all on except the pink one. So there I was standing outside the dressing room door handing her these shirts, she was trying them on and then showing me what they looked like on her. Then I handed her the pink one. She threw it back over the top of the dressing room door, she wanted nothing to do with it. So, I just convinced her to at least try it on. So she did and opened the dressing room door to show me with a look on her face like she was going to hurl. Well, it was definately her colour. 'Oh my God Hayley! That is soooo your colour!!' I then got a face that was screaming 'Tania your on crack' on Hayley's face. So we decided that she would think about it while we walking around the mall shopping. She didn't know if she wanted the white or blue one. But I kept pressuring her to get the pink one. I finally convinced her that it was her color by telling her it complimented her skin tone and made her cheeks look rosier. I did a good job, didn't I? After that you couldn't get pink off her.
Another thing I loved doing with Hayley is laughing. We would be DEAD tired, we'd climb into bed....and then one of us will start giggling uncontrollably. Of course it was contagious so the other would laugh to, until a "ok, whats so funny?" came out of one of our mouths. Now let me tell you, everything we would giggle about for hours on end, was completely stupid. My favourite one was our chicken one, it was the longest and we came up with some really crazy stuff. But Hayley got the metal for the best one that night. You know how Hayley used to go "Guess What???? CHICKEN BUTT!!" or "Guess who?? CHICKEN POO!!"...well, we came up with about a hundred of those. But Hayley took the trophy with "Guess where??? CHICKEN PUBIC HAIR!!!!!" we laughed for an hour just over that one. But we laughed about lots of things, I wouldn't be able to count all the good times we've had over the years.
I could go on forever on all our good times, but unfortuneately I don't have forever, and I'm sure this is long enough already. But I'm excited to read everyone elses stories. Buh Bye
Love Tania
