Villa Christina is a very nice and large villa in the village of Plaka in the Apokoronas, not far from Chania, about an hour drive from the airport (Chania). It has sea views, overlooking Souda Bay and the Akrotiri peninsula, and it is very cheaply priced (starting at 600 euro per week in 2012)! The beach of Almyrida is about 5 minutes away (2 km) and you it is possible to go there on foot. Here in Almyrida you find a lot of shops, supermarkets, two pharmacies and a variety of good restaurants and a few bars. Villa Christina is located in a very quiet street above Almyrida in village of Plaka, 150 meters from the village square with tavernas and a good supermarket (the best small supermarket in the area). If you walk for three minutes walk you are on the central square of Plaka, while the location of the villa itself has a more rural feel, because it is surrounded by hedges and trees and there is a large garden at the villa. There is a lawn (with a barbecue and a table with chairs) and there are many trees including palm trees, conifers and an almond tree. In the street where the villa is located there is almost no traffic. In the villa has a fantastic large pool with sunbeds and parasols. There are three bedrooms and it can accommodate up to six people. To get an impression of the villa and the pool you can take a look at a movie that I have made.

Villa Christina has a private garage where you can park the car out of the sun. You enter the living room with comfortable sofas and a coffee table. There is a TV and DVD player and there is air conditioning. The living room leads through to the large kitchen with all appliances (toaster, coffee maker, kettle, microwave, dishwasher etc) and lots of crockery, glasses and pans. There is a wooden dining table with six chairs. From the lounge there are patio doors to a large terrace where there is a table with six chairs. So you can have breakfast, lunch or dinner both indoor and outdoor. From this terrace or from the door in the kitchen you can walk to the pool.

A staircase with a few steps leads to a bathroom with shower and toilet, and then to the first bedroom with two single beds, which is located next door. The marble staircase leads further up to the first floor where there are two large bedrooms and a spacious bathroom with a bath and a toilet. One room has two single beds, a large wardrobe and a private terrace. The master bedroom is spacious, has a double bed, large wardrobe and doors to a very large terrace with seating. At the rear of the villa is a terrace overlooking the village, instead of over the sea. Also all bedrooms at Villa Christina, like the living room, have air conditioning.

Villa Christina has a large swimming pool (five x ten meters) with a maximum depth of 2.30 meters. The swimming pool is sheltered from the road by hedges and various trees, so there is plenty of privacy. During the day there is always at a different place somewhere around the pool where a piece of shade can be found, but there are also two large umbrellas.
