THE VILLAGE OF TAVARI ON LESBOS
The coastal village of Tavari in the southwest of Lesbos can be reached through Mesotopos where the sign leads you first through the village and then to the coast. Tavari has a large harbourfront with quite a few restaurants and a supermarket. Along the harbour there are rows of trees. The village is waiting for the tourists (we didn't see them), because all the chairs are empty. The townbeach is long and made of large pebbles.
Not really comfortable to lie on or to go into the sea. Only at the end of the beach towards the church is a small part with sand. If you walk to the church you will see small pieces of fenced land everywhere (for sale?). At the church there are beautiful views of the rocks and of some more beaches.
