Megali Amos Beach or Megali Ammos Beach on Mykonos
Megali Amos is a beach on the edge of Mykonos town. Surprisingly it's usually very, very quiet. This is because there tends to be a lot of wind. It's not one of the best beaches, because it is so close to a road, but if you like to escape the crowds that you find on most of the other beaches this beach could be an option. I ended up there because I wanted to make a picture of a beautiful small church that stands lonely on a cactus-covered rock, and so I just walked down the hill leading to the beach. Megali Ammos is maybe an option for people that want to stay near Mykonos Town (it is directly connected to the town, the beach starts just behind the famous windmills of Mykonos Town), but prefer a quiet and relaxed place. The center of Mykonos Town with all its bars and discotheques is around the corner, but at Megali Ammos Beach you will almost not or completely not be bothered by this.
