Kalamos is a small and quiet village which is located on the Pagasetic Gulf in the region of Pelion. It is located south of the villages of Lefokastro and Afissos and on the west coast of the peninsula. The distance to the capital city of Volos is around 46 kilometers. At 6 kilometers away from Kalamos is the quite large traditional mountain village of Argalasti, which was the main commercial center of South Pelion during the Turkish occupation. In Argalasti you will find many traditional old houses, narrow lanes and a beautiful church with a very high bell tower which dates from 1914.
