There are over 300 types of shark. Iot's of people are scared of sharks.There are about 10000 people scared of sharks Some sharks are scared of us.
The Bull Shark
The bull shark (Carcharhinus leucas), also known as the Zambezi, is the only shark that can truly live in fresh water. Thus it is found in rivers such as the Mississippi, the Amazon, the Ganges and Africa's Zambezi, as well as in the ocean, including the western Atlantic. A slow swimmer that rarely surfaces, the bull shark scavenges for most of its food, but it is also an effective hunter. Bull sharks, which are blamed for widespread attacks on humans, can reach a maximum known size of 11 feet.
The Hammerhead Shark
Found in tropical and warm temperate waters worldwide, the scalloped hammerhead (Sphyrna lewini) typically reaches 10 feet long, but may grow to a maximum size of about 14 feet. Its name derives from a deep indentation in the center of its hammer-shaped protuberance, whose width is 24 to 30 percent of the shark's total length. Scalloped hammerheads feed primarily on rays, fish, squid, snails, small sharks and shrimp.
The Great White Shark
The great white shark (Carcharodon carcharias), a top ocean predator, plays a vital role in keeping certain animal populations, such as other sharks and dolphins, in balance. The largest predatory shark, and the biggest of all hunting fish, it reaches an average length of 16 feet 6 inches and a weight of 1,100 pounds. The great white's maximum size is a matter of debate, with estimates ranging from 23 to 36 feet.
