"Scum" was an ancient account that was "given away" to a select group of people who used it liberally all over the boards to post with. It was hacked by "The KOS Krew" and shut down.
Of course there is a lot more to the story of Scum than this. I'm sure someone will come along and add more, maybe?

Well, looks like I'm a bit late. I suppose it's time to tell the tale of Scum, once again. Gather around, children.
*cracks knuckles*
Scum wasn't actually a person, rather, he was many people. An account shared by many of the board hunters and other people along those lines. It was originally created by ColdFusion, the moderator, back in April of 2001. Since then, Scum had been all over GameFAQs and was second only to CJayC in how many people on GameFAQs knew of him. His infatuation with apples will be forever legendary on these boards. Since the day I discovered secret board hunters, I'd always looked up to Scum. It's kind of a tender matter for me, so if you want to know more about what Scum was like, there are still lots of his posts on Ninja Golf and Captain Goodnight.
I realize completely that Scum was just an account, he wasn't really a single person, but to those that really knew him, Scum was more than just an account. Like no account could ever be. He was.. special. No one can ever replace Scum. The way he talked and acted, it was really as if he was one person.
One more thing: You might've seen the user Scum Bag around on the boards, rating topics. Scum Bag is not Scum, OK? Many people that never knew Scum think that. Scum Bag is nothing like Scum. Wasn't even created by the same person. It's not even shared by the board hunters. I do know who created the account, so there is truth behind what I'm saying.
It may be a fleeting weakness of mine, or a sense of disbelief, but I remain hopeful that Scum will still be un-banned someday. Even though CF requested Scum just be finally laid to rest, the boards on GameFAQs have truly lost their grace since that day. Depressed people as of late, all the new security measures and low activity on secret boards and factions, although arguably not directly affected by Scum's banning, have happened in its wake. The boards are on a constant downward slope. I really miss Scum....
