The girls from Senior Troop 143 are working on their Gold Award project called ElderWish. The Gold Award is the highest achievement in Girl Scouting. We work with two nursing homes in the local Melbourne, FL area. Each girl has been meeting with at least two residents since December 2002 in order to get to know them and find out their wish. After we find out something special that we can do for them, we then work to make it come true! We want the community to become involved, so we do this by contacting organizations or businesses to see if they will help with the project. We want ElderWish to be a continuing service project that is carried on by community service organizations, older Girl Scout troops, and any interested individuals.
