AGIA VARVARA

The church along the main road in Agia Varvara.

Agia Varvara is a very busy, long stretched, big (and ugly...) village at the beginning of the Messare Plain on the route from Iraklion south towards Mires. When travelling from north to south in Crete to the important archaeological sites of Mesara you cannot avoid passing through.
