As we look ahead to addressing longer-term needs, members of the Centenary community, led by among others, Prof. Norman Cetuk, will be traveling to New Orleans in January to assist in the rebuilding efforts. Currently our thought is to help Dillard University, a sister United Methodist Institution that has sustained heavy water and wind damage. As a community we will work in the days ahead to solidify this plan and to invite your financial and physical participation.
We will continue to monitor the needs of those affected by Hurricane Katrina and respond in thoughtful and useful ways. We rely on your advice, support and prayer as we strive to be Centenary College in the world.
With many thanks,

President Hoyt's Address
We have all been searching for a way to respond to the devastation wrought by Hurricane Katrina on those living in the Gulf Coast region. Throughout our 138-year history, Centenary has continually served the least of our brothers and sisters. Turning to our United Methodist roots and our understanding that the world truly is our parish, we are determined to meet real needs as outlined by people and agencies directly on-site. Recognizing that those temporarily displaced by the Hurricane will need a variety of sustained responses, we ask you to join us in whichever of the following moves you.
