Arnold Schwarzenegger

 ASAS with Arnold

“Through the programs offered, disadvantaged children work hard, play hard and learn important skills, but probably the most important thing they learn is that they can be winners participating in the American dream,” said Schwarzenegger. “These programs offer kids the opportunity to be mentored by caring professionals, to be provided the extra help, understanding and respect that builds self-esteem, and to enable them to say ‘yes’ to hope, learning and life.”

ICGF (Inner-City Games Foundation) is a foundation that began in Los Angeles in 1991. It is now in 15 different cities and helps over half a million young kids (ages 7-13). These cities are Atlanta, Chicago, Columbus, Dallas, Detroit, Houston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New York, Orlando, Philadelphia, San Antonio, San Diego, San Jose, and South Florida.

Inner-City Games Foundation is changing their name to After School All Stars (ASAS).  The foundation started out as a summer games program and now is a year round after school program. The organization provides tutors, arts, music, and computer skills and sports. They provide scholarships and to remain you have to pass requirements.

I liked things that Arnold is doing for the community and the kids themselves. During his whole life Arnold has been setting goals and accomplishing them.
