Ummmm....Excuse me, Auntie, but shouldn't the ingredients for Maple Syrup be............. ????

Maple syrup gives us the strength of a TREE! 


Now...about those pancakes...

  • 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup brown rice flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 banana, mashed
  • 1 1/4 cups rice milk
  • 1 Tablespoon evaporated cane juice
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (soaked overnight)
  • 1 cup chopped apples
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

(Here's Aunt Jemima's...with bleach and aluminum!  E-gads!)

Life Begets Life

Live food for live bodies....Whole food...not just extracted bits of this and that but the whole food.  (Example...protein isolates...not what they're cracked up to be!)

Live food to feed live cells.  Feed your cells not just your belly!

Food should be eaten in its natural state...whole...complete...ripe...raw...grown without chemicals...and certainly not genetically modified.

Food is best when it's fresh.  Locally grown is best for this reason.  The closer the better.  The least processing and handling possible is best and the least time in transit.  Food can be much, much, much fresher this way, and also they're more liketly to have been picked ripe.  The riper the produce when picked, the more full of nutrients it is; and the fresher it is, the more of it's nutrients remain.  It's as simple as that.

In season and local is also best because what you need is always close at hand in nature.  That is my spiritual belief, plus it has proven true.

Organic for sooooooo many reasons.  People really don't realize, I think, the amounts of chemicals used and the truly detrimental effects.

As to raw, destroys nutrients!  What you are left with is sludge in the intestines after cooked food is consumed.  Oh, it may have some minerals left, but come on!  The And what about vitamins?  Vitamins are the vital energy of the plant.  How can it remain alive?  The enzymes are totally gone.  Plus when you cook food it turns into something toxic for your body in many ways, through chemical reactions and also just the fact that it sits there and rots when it can't break down and  move through the system efficiently.

I've been working in my own dietary practices to incorporate more and more raw food into my diet...raw fruit, veggies, seeds, sprouts, nuts, and raw natural syrups...yum yum.  You'd be surprised at how many wonderful ways there are to prepare such foods!  There's a lot more to be enjoyed tham simply gnawing on a raw carrot stick!   If you're in the Cleveland area, check out this MeetUp Group.

Hippocrates said, "Let thy food be thy medicine and thy medicine be thy food."  But has to be real food...not altered with cooking and with chemicals and with over-processing to be of any real help.  Real food for real people!  Life begets life.  You can't get life out of something that's dead!

When food is alive with the nutrients it was created with, it will sustain us and regenerate us and keep us healthy, internally cleaned, and fortified.  Think about only makes sense.

Please join us for a time of amazingly delicious and incomparably healthy food, fun and new-found friendship. It is for everyone who may be interested, not just the already committed pure raw foodist.

Arrive anytime after 7 pm--we will eat at 7:30. Bring a Raw Vegan dish (no meat, no dairy, and not heated over 110 degrees, organic if possible) along with serving utensils. Please also bring the recipe for the dish that you're sharing, so we can all learn!

The food we choose to consume plays a vital role in healing the body, mind and soul. Raw food is giving. Cooked and processed food is hard on the system and devoid of most of it's nutritional value. It's lost it's vitality, or vital energy. Raw food cleanses the system and restores enzymes, vitamins and minerals which are essential for mental and physical health. It is vibrant with life!

Raw food enthusiasts credit their diet with imparting physical vigor, mental clarity, and exceptional health. By following natural hygiene laws through a raw food diet, the body is given the chance it needs to detoxify and heal from years of the standard American diet.

Mankind originated on a raw food diet. Nothing can be healthier than fresh, organic, raw foods.

"You'd think, wouldn't you, that a carrot is a carrot - that one is about as good as another as far as nourishment is concerned? But it isn't; one carrot may look and taste like another and yet be lacking in the particular mineral element which our system requires and which carrots are supposed to contain."

Real People....Real Food!

Can you tell the difference between these two pictures? Of course you can. One is real, one is fake! No problem!

Now let me ask you....which would you prefer to eat? Silly question, huh?

Just bear with me a moment, and think about your reasons for answering that question the way that you obviously did. (I'm assuming you chose to eat the real fruit and veggies, and not the pretend food, correct?)

Nutrition? Of course. Taste? Well, duh! How about the fact that plastic's probably not good for you!

Well, what if I told you that the fake food wouldn't hurt you, that it was actually better for you because all sorts of good things have been added, and that it tastes good, costs less, and that's what everyone eats?! Would you take a taste of it then?

No? Ohhhhh....You can see the difference with your own eyes! Well, looks can be deceiving, you know!

I ate a strawberry the other night, and it LOOKED pretty much like a strawberry...It said on the carton that it was a strawberry...It sorta tasted like one...

But it didn't have the full sweetness...not quite enough taste...and the texture! The texture's what gave it away!

I've been eating strawberries my whole entire life! When I was little, we used to have a great big huge patch full of them, and I'd eat them all the time! This was no strawberry like anything I'd ever tasted before, and I've had fruit from different countries, as well! This was NOT a strawberry...I'm sure.

I mean,well, it MUST have been...The box said so! But I still think it was somehow fake. GENETICALLY ENGINEERED by an IMPOSTER of Nature! Some kind of strawberry changing scientist freak, thinking he can do better than God! And making a tidy profit, I'm sure.

It was smooth. Tasted like plastic. Felt like plastic inside my mouth. It was strange.

I find more and more that I run into a lot of food that's just not quite the same. Like corn. It's hard anymore to find corn like when I was a kid.

I'll tell you where I DO find food that tastes like it used to taste....In the organic section, that's where! The BEST is vine ripened and locally grown!

I don't think science can improve on food. Food was real good to start with. I like the taste of real food, without being modified. I trust it more in my body, too. You know, they say only God can make a tree, well I think only God can make strawberries, too.

Real Food. It only makes sense.
