Singing with Coyotes!
Topic: Healing Process

The internet is really a great  way to stay connected with people and news from all over the world.  Miuch better than standard media ways, and it makes travel to cultures and commerce from all over the world possible, as well as some very long distance good friends.

But sometimes it scares me.  It might be a phobia of mine...a consipiracy theorist kind of a thing...But right now I'm sitting out in the country in a beautiful, BEAUTIFUL setting, and not  many people know that I'm here.  It is nice.  And then when I started my internet, it computed my location.  Actually it did this twice.  Once by the internet provider chip and once by the browsing service I used.  That made me feel more than a little geeked out.

This might be a good time to make an announcement...on a happier note!  I've decided to start writing books!  I've got several in the brewer right now!

But as for today I decided to do a little writing right here, and tell the rest of the whole world hello!  I was thinking of the topic of day-to-day healing...kind of in response to what most people ask about natural health.

We all have things that need healing.  It's the human condition.  If we were in a whole and complete fit state of perfection, we'd be able to fly with no need of wings but what's in our mind!

Have you ever thought to yourself or said to somebody else any of the following phrases?

Oh....I don't want to write them because I don't want to put them on my own "I am!"  You know the phrases...Anything that starts with "I am" and then ends with something negative.  Those are the types of phrases which become embedded in our subconscious if we allow them, and then color our whole entire world!

So, step one to healing is don't allow it!  The words "I am" are very powerful tools!  Remember you were created in the image and likeness of God, so it's actually quite blasphemous to put anything bad after those words.  When I start to think them (and yes, sometimes like everyone else, I do dwell...that's what I'm trying to help not to do!)...I try to rearrange them all in my head to say things like "I'm healing," instead.

I'm healing...my body is reforming itself into the best that creation intended for it to be... which is perfect and so am I!  I'm a beloved child of God just like everyone else, and if the world, including myself, would just remember just that little thing every day, then a much healthier and happier whole lot we would be!

So  with that, part of my daily prayer every day is "Dear God help me remember that I am O.K.!  (And so is everyone else...kinda like the book, "I'm OK, You're OK!"  Hahaha!  I can't help it, that just came to mind!  Hahaha!)

So here I sit this  morning in this beautiful setting.  I'm overlooking the most beautiful woods.  If I knew how to download what's on my camera I would surely attach a picture for you, but I don't...and I'm not sure how this webcam on works.

I'm  on a hill, surrounded by woods.  They go down  into a ravineand then back up the other side of a great big hill as tall as the one I'm sitting on.  Hundreds of acres of woods are easily viewable from where I sit, and 40 of those acres belong to this house.

It's winter, so you can see a lot more land than when covered by summer's leaves.  It's a good time of year to get to know the place in a way which will be hidden again very soon.

Every morning I take time to look out the windows and to go outside for awhile.  (Yesterday I went out in the snow with my bare toes to throw some food to the animals and I got locked out of the house!  Yikes!  Luckily there's an entryway and help was on the way really soon!  Hahaha!  Oh!!!!)

So what I like to do in the morning to start my day off on the right foot (and hopefully not to get locked out of the house!) is to open the windows and breathe in the fresh morning air.  I start before sunrise, so I try to be quiet at first and just listen.  I go to windows on all sides of the house, but mostly just on the two sides overlooking the woods.  I also like to go out on the deck.

I have a birdfeeder on the deck, and the birds come according to which type of seeds that I use!  I find that amazing.  I'm finding that learning about the animals and true wildlife watching is a really, really fun thing to do! Of course that's something I've always known.  It's what I loved most as a kid!

I always played with rabbits and toads and field mice and even the grasshoppers and praying mantises and bees.  So here there are lots of birds, and just about every kind of animal you could think of, I bet!  All the ones native to this part of the country are most likely right here on this land!  That is simply amazing to me.  It's what I've wanted my whole entire life!

It's funny, though...the animals here are reeeeal quiet.  The first trip down into the woods was when I first noticed how quiet they are.  I knew there had to be hundreds and hundreds of creatures aware of my presence at that very moment as I sat with my sweety on a tree limb out there, but there was not hardly so much as a bug to be seen.  Even the birds were real still.  Trips into the woods since then have been much the same.

But I've noticed that putting the birdseed out has certainly made the birds plentiful up close to the house.   Then one day I tossed an apple out into the field and a bunny came tumbling along.  This place will be nice in the spring!

I've noticed that the crows really do tell the story to the whole woods, and on various occassions they've told the woods about  me.   Sitting and listening to nature is something I really enjoy.

Yesterday morning I tried something new...and I did it again already today.  When I was at the window taking in my morning air, I decided to sing to the woods.  So I sang a song with no words but just sounds...it's a song that I often sing.  I'm a big believer that singing is very natural and very healing, so I sing around the house quite a lot...I could type pages and pages about just only that!  Singing is soooooooo good for the health!

So while I was singing out the window to all the woods, many things went through my mind.  I wondered what the animals thought.  This was a strange and new sound to them out there in the woods.  The way the canyon is formed, my voice carried to all of them there.

I sang quite awhile...probably five or ten minutes, I'd say.  The thoughts that went through my mind went the whole range as I sang this song without any words.  It's a very meditative experience to sing in such a way for an extended period of time.  A lot of spiritual thoughts and realizations flowed through my mind in a song of thanksgiving and of connecting with nature in such a fabulous way.  I felt so blessed to be part of it all.

I thought about silly things, too, which is fine.  It was a very happy feeling to feel as a child!  I thought about Snow White, Cinderella, and Sleeping Beauty, and how they all sang to the woodland animals, and how very much they were adored by them all.  A feeling of excitement came over me to imagine that they might come to love me here, too!

Then I thought of Julie Andrews and how she must have felt singing that song in the Austrian hills.  I really do love the woods!

I brought my song to a close and then I just stopped to listen for a response.  About ten seconds went by, continuing in silence as was before, and then all of a sudden the call came to ask me where I had gone  It was the call of the coyotes!  How cool! They usually howl at night if you listen, but this was the morning and they were already sleeping until I woke them up!  It was such a fabulous feeling to know they were listening to me and that they were responding directly to me!  I howled back a couple of times and they howled back to me in return, and then I let them finally go back to sleep, which they most blissfully did, because not so much more as a whimper was heard...Until this morning when I did it again~!

Day to day healing...That's what I started writing about.  This is my day.  Everyone needs to make up a day of their own.  When I'm at my house in town, I open up the upstairs window and look out into the snow, but I don't sing to the village too much.  I do sing, however, once the window is closed up again!  Singing is good no matter the setting, and so is breathing the air.  As for the wildlife in Hartville...well there used to be more rabbits and birds in my yard, but now there are seven cats at my house!  And two dogs to howl to the world!

Day to day healing  has to do with establishing your place in your day.  Connectingwith your environment and doing that which will heal...such as singing...breathing...taking it in and letting it out.  Dancing comes naturally, too, and is one of the best ways to heal.

I like to turn on some music and dance...stretching every way I can stretch.  I don't always take time, and I should.  It shows on my health when I don't.

Today I used the mini-trampoline.  I have it positioned in front of the window from which I sang today's song.  So I lightly bounced...it's not necessary to even take the feet off of the surface...It's not like a big bouncy trampoline out in the yard.  Mini-trampolines are meant to be gentle and just get the lymophatics pumping along.

I enjoyed my time this morning...I bounced, stretched, and did a little dance.  It reminded me of the times I used to go with friends off to pow wows and dance the traditional dances of this American land.

Now I'm going to go take my bath.  I'm going to open the window again and I'm going to lay in the water scented with natural essential oils.  I like to put my ears under the water and lay back and do my "Ohms."  You know...."Ohmmmmm.....Ohmmmmm...."  The vibrations are very good.

The question that people have about how to heal is best answered by pointing out that all day is an opportunity to bring healing energy into your life.  It's not this herb or that herb which heals...although yes very healing they are.  More importantly is the way each  moment is lived.

While  my water is running I'll make some herb tea, and I'll take it upstairs with me along with a book.  Today I'm reading about greenhouses, because that's something I'd like to learn how to do.  After reading and  doing my ohms and drying off I'll come down and clean up the house a bit while listening to music and moving around.  Then my day will go on from there...on to a nice raw foods lunch with someone I love, and I give thanks that life is so good!  This is how healing occurs...it's in the little every day things that we do.

Have a blessed day today!  That's what I'm planning to do!  Even when I'm cleaning the house.

Naturally Yours in Good Health,

Celebrate Life!
Mood:  happy
Now Playing: "Get Down Tonight," by K.C. and the Sunshine Band
Topic: Healing Process

How is health created?  Health is created by living in accordance with that which we were meant to be.  Good health is a natural thing! We were created in perfection in the image and likeness of God, and we were placed in an atmosphere conducive to healing, offering up everything we need to live.   The universe is as it should be, and everything in it acts together in balance and harmony.  The design is completely unflawed.  Life was given to us in abundance, and God saw it as good.

Celebrate life!  Not with fake food from which the vital nutrients have been stripped away...and not with beverage which dries up the cells of the body and brain making them brittle and dry.  Celebrate life's goodness with drink and food which reflect the goodness of life...food with the nutritional value intact and food which has not been senselessly tainted through un-natural means!

Celebrate life with dancing and singing and laughing and loving!  These are gifts meant to bring happiness and healing to us!

Celebrate life by smelling the flowers...and the pine trees...and the wonderful smells of the fruit orchards and the sweetness in the air after a rain and the natural scent of your mate.  What could be better than natural fragrances?  (Synthetic ones are actually toxic to your nerves and brain!)

Celebrate life with prayers of thanksgiving and works to help others find a more healthy and joyous life.  Celebrate life with your family, your loved ones, with strangers and also alone with yourself.  Celebrate life in your heart!

Celebrate life by seeing the good in it ALL.

Blessings,

Sometimes you have to step back to step forward...
Mood:  happy
Now Playing: "While My Guitar Gently Weeps," the Beatles (Anthology Version)
Topic: Healing Process

Hello everybody.  I've been doing much better than I had been before.  I didn't realize what bad shape I was in.  Now I'm living a much healthier and happier life.  I've gotten back more into my roots.  I have been recuperating from years of excessive stress...on a sabbatical, to say...and allowing myself time to rebalance and heal. I'm so grateful for the regenerating power of Life!

I've always believed it was the most basic right and true gift from God to be able to accomplish good health and a feeling of overall well-being.  I truly believe good health is a natural thing.

Natural's not always easy, however, because we've learned to live incredibly unnatural lives, and that's how we get out of balance and lose energy and get sick so much of the time.  It's happened too often with me as it does us all.  It occurs often through trauma or ill-conceived ways.  (Of course even ill-conceived ways, I believe, begin with trauma somewhere.  Even birth itself is a trauma, considering we used to live effortlessly in the spiritual realm.)

The most important thing is to love yourself, God and others....and to always love and stay true to the good in all life.  Living a life on this earth isn't easy.  It never has been and it never will be.  Sometimes we take on a lot in a lifetime in order to learn.  This is how it's been for me.  This might include extreme sadness and grief, but it also includes plentiful joy and an abundance of satisfaction and peace.

So all I can tell you is to live as close to the heart of your heart, and to live close to nature as was provided.  This will help you in all aspects of life.  Eat food as close to being in it's natural state as you can.  Raw organic fruits, vegetables, grains, nuts, seeds, etc. are of course the absolute best.  Drink lots of pure water.  Stretch your body each day and move it in every way it will go.  I find this easiest to do in my own home with dance every morning to start.  This is good, too, because music is very healing in its own right.  It has the ability to make one feel happy or to release overburdening sadness from the heart just as well.  Take walks out in nature.  The forest, the meadow, the sunshine and all!  Love those that you love and bless those that curse you.  Love is the master cure.  Take time to commune with the God of your being, and give thanks for the goodness inherant in life.

These are the things I recommend for good health, and the most important food is your herbs.  Please visit my website at www.mynsp.com/eshelman and then ask me any questions you'd like to know by filling out the contact form on the site.  (There is no charge associated with this.)

Please watch the calendar on my website for I'll be posting many new wonderful things very soon, and you're more than welcome to join in on the learning and fun.  I wish I had time to write letters personally to all of my wonderful friends, or talk to you all on the phone.  I am doing wonderfully well on my journey to healing, so please don't worry for me but please pray for me and us all as I do. There is much to heal in this world and us all!  Enjoy the blessings of life...sing, love, dance, smell the beautiful fragrances of life, partake of good natural whole foods, herbs and clean water, breathe deeply, rejoice and take part in nature...and naturally good health will be the result.  Good health is a natural thing! Pain gets carried in the body as well as the mind.  The root causes need to be healed.

May blessings be abundant for you...

MIRACLES HAPPEN EACH DAY!!!
Mood:  celebratory
Now Playing: "Celebrate!" by Kool and the Gang
Topic: Healing Process

I LOVE the work that I do!  I am sooo grateful that I made the commitment to offer myself up to God as a channel for healing good!  That's what I am , really....a channel.  I did the studying, and I got my degrees, and I paid my dues in this profession, but the work I do is really God's!

The rewards are so great...FAR greater than any amount of money I ever could make.  Today was a big payday for me in the way of BIGTIME rewards!  I got a call from a very good friend whom I've been helping with cancer, emphasema, and general overall health.  He was in pretty bad shape.  He had a tumor so big that it had actually broken his ribs.

I told him the same as I tell everyone...that I cannot promise anything, and that I'm not licensed to diagnose, prevent, treat, prescribe, cure or mitigate in any disease.  I'm trained in natural health and ways the body works to stay well, and I'm certified in the study and practice of tradional ways of healing which have been used throughout time.  I work with ways of helping to support the body in bringing its own healing about.  This being known, he said he wanted my help.  I told him I could introduce him to things which have been used to offer support to others in his situation before...and I could help him with a supplementation program which would provide basic nutrients to help keep him strong.

Well...............just ONE SHORT MONTH into the program, he got a cat scan and the tumor has shrunk to 1/2 it's size!!!!!!!!!!!YAY GOD!

Let me say that again!!!  When using the herbs that God gave us to keep us well in a systematic manner for only one month, this tumor that was big enough to break this man's ribs is now half the size that it was!  The only thing he has been doing to bring this change about has been to follow a program of natural health for a month!  He was on no conventional treatment at all whatsoever!  That was not the route that he chose to take.  He wanted to try out natural ways first...and wow!  I can't wait to see what will happen if he continues this program he's on!

Is this a miracle?  YES!  Is it something rare?  Not at all.

What?  Not rare?  Well  no!  I have seen countless miracles and heard about countless more!  I've had miracles in my own life occur, and now this miracle is happening with this friend of mine.  I've seen cases of everything under the sun disappear...with the application of natural and God-given ways.

Why don't more people know about this?  Well, that is a very good question to ask!  A LOT of people DO know about these kinds of things...but only people with open minds, and only people who actively look for the truth, and maybe a few who just happened to be in the right place at the right time...But these things are not widely publicized through conventional means.  You might hear a segment on the evening news, but a very small segment, interrupted by a commercial message most like from the maker's of some kind of drug.  And then the next segment is about something else, and that's the end of all that.

But if you look in the research...you'll see it.  If you look to jesus_healing_a_blind_man.jpg jesus healing image by vibraceousancient writings, it's there.  Even the Bible talks about healing!  But suddenly no one believes.

I can't concern myself anymore with all that.  It drives me nuts when I worry about how information is being suppressed.  Oh, yes....I'll still be active in the fight to bring truth out into the light.  I'll sign the petitions around and tell people what's going on.  But I can't take my energy to get so upset like I sometimes do, because I need my energy to stay in a positive space.

I'm here to be part of the solution.  Yes, there are MANY forces against the natural health way being used and known by more people...ways with a lot of money and influence to back up the suppression of fact.  But in my little corner of the world, m truth about MIRACLES will be shouted out loud!  Because miracles of healing happen each and every single day in this world!!!

My friend has a tumor that is now half its size, because I shared what I know and helped him apply it to his benefit.  This is what I do with many people...people with conditions stretched out from here to there.  I have one friend whom I have helped who said he gained more in his health with one week on the herbs that I asked him to try, than he did after spending $80,000 in medical bills...and all it costed was about a hundred dollars a month.  He's now off all his meds.  Wouldn't it have been wonderful if he could have found this type of wellness before he and his wife had to sell their home just to pay medical bills?  I'm just happy they found a better way before more health was lost.  That's the really important thing.

Natural healing deals with restoring vitality.  There's no disease that can't be benefited by restoring vitality to the whole system!  Cleanse, nourish and balance...that is the key to good health....and good health is the key to being strong enough to fight off disease.  Disease is not natural...Good health is a natural thing!

I hope when you read things like this it will sink in that these things occur all the time.  There's no need for loss of hope like they tell you.  When the doctor says there's no cure, that means there's no cure they can provide with their expertise.  But the medical schools do not teach of the power of God, and they do not teach of natural ways...so there's a WHOLE lot that they do not know!  They know of disease, but not wellness.  This is a very sad truth, but let us recognize that there are other ways which can work, and HAVE worked for many before.

Have a blessed wonderul sunshiney day!

Community, Communication, Communion
Mood:  happy
Now Playing: We Are the World!
Topic: Healing Process

com·mu·ni·ty      [kuh-myoo-ni-tee]

  • A group of people having common interests
  • Sharing, participation, and fellowship.

com·mu·ni·ca·tion      [kuh-myoo-ni-key-shuhn]

  • Activity by one organism that changes or has the potential to change the behavior of other organisms.
  • Transfer of information from one cell or molecule to another, as by chemical or electrical signals.
com·mun·ion      [kuh-myoon-yuhn]
  • Interchange or sharing of thoughts or emotions; intimate communication: communion with nature.
  • The act of sharing, or holding in common; participation.

Just a few words that came to mind.  What we are forming here is a community of support and of healing, working together to activate change through participation and sharing.

It's very difficult to effect change all alone.  People naturally want to "fit in."  Let's face it...Living a lifestyle of natural health is not a value that's commonly held in the larger society, but in our little community here, we can offer each other support.

I think it's a shame that topics such as those which we talk about are often thought to be "taboo" in polite conversation...Topics like thinking about what we eat...not just consuming what the market dictates, but actually thinking about the purpose of eating, which is actually for nourishment's sake!  Topics like natural healing are often thought of, also, as strange.  Most people just go to the drug store when they have a cough, they don't think about honey or wild cherry bark.  And flu shots are a REAL common thing.  To say I'm against vaccination sets me up to be ridiculed.  But you know what?  I don't care!

There are many controversial issues right now concerning matters of health.  It can be very hard to sort out what is true and what is simply propoganda, advertising, and ideas bought into just for convenience, like tv dinners in the microwave.

What we are creating here is a community of experts in our own right.  I would like this to be a forum where we can share what we've learned with each other, and where we can share our good results!  The mission of my work is to help Give Folk Medicine Back to the Folks, by Teaching People to Teach People to Teach!  In this way, perhaps we can make common again what is in our best interest for health, rather than the common beliefs held in our larger community now, which includes things like the belief that if it weren't any good for us, it would not be allowed on the shelf.  People actually believe that is true!

So here we will try to distinguish what is just advertising, and what is actually fact.  We will look at research, at history, and at results, and we will learn to recognize the lies from the truth.

Where to begin?  I always like to start at the beginning!

1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. 4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. 5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening F1 and the morning were the first day.

6 And God said, Let there be a firmament F2 in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. 7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. 8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.

9 And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so. 10 And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good. 11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, F3 the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. 12 And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good. 13 And the evening and the morning were the third day.

14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day F4 from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: 15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so. 16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, F5 and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also. 17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, 18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good. 19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. 21 And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good. 22 And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth. 23 And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.

24 And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so. 25 And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. 28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth F6 upon the earth.

29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing F7 seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. 30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, F8 I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.

31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

In the beginning, God created the heaven and earth, and once all was created it was declared good...ALL was GOOD...IS good if we are to believe in life, love and goodness eternal, and we are created in the image of God.  So what does this mean?  It's all good!

So where does sickness come into the picture?  Destruction?  Pain?  Death?  I think these things come into the picture as part of our human condition on earth, and basically by not living in accordance with perfect law.

What?  Perfect law? Hmm...Is anyone of us perfect?  My answer to that is YES!  We all were created in the image and likeness of God...and so we have to accept our state of perfection as a part of our intended purpose and identity.

So what is the law...I believe it is the laws of nature, and the laws of goodness and love.  All of nature was created in perfection in such a way so as to support perfect life.  If God is perfect, then so are we and the whole entire creation of life as a whole!  That includes the whole entire way that nature was designed, right on down to the last little bug and way up high in the sky to the last little star.  It means to each cell in our body, as well.

All of nature is one.  COMMUNITY.

And all of nature communes...interacts.

The question of wellness comes down to whether or not we are participating in the communion of nature or are we working against our own greatest good?

It's really quite simple.  What were we given to start with?  Land...we should take care of it!  We have dominion!  We're stewards! If we love the land, the land will give to us in abundance and care for all of our needs.  Out of dust we were made, and to dust we will return.  It is the law.  It is simply the way that it is.  Our bodies are made of the soil in that our minerals needed to function in the living world come from the rocks and the dirt.

But we do not eat rocks and dirt...we were given the herbs as our food. The action of the sun and the water and the earth together grow the plants to give us our food...to give food for every living thing on this earth!

I believe strongly that if we would live according to our true nature, we would reap the benefits of perfect health, because it is in our nature to be one with all life.  We were created in the image of God, and God to me is the giver of life, so how can we be sick except to interfere somehow with the connection to our own good?  Or to have this interfered with by somebody else or something outside our control.

So what's within our control?  Well let's look at what we were given in the beginning and take a look at our areas of control:

  • Light - There is so much to be said about LIGHT and healing!  Light is energy in pure form, and has all power to heal us through warmth,  illumination, color, and through energy in every cell!
  • What kind of control do we have over light?
    • Well, do we let it in?
    • Do we light a candle of illumnination inside our heart?  Or do we cast ourselves and others into a realm of darkness and hate?
    • Do we let the light of day shine upon problems?  Or do we keep them all locked up in the gloominess of no relief?
    • Do we go out in the sunshine and let it touch our face and our body? Or do we stay trapped inside a world of flourescent and incandescent lighting? Light bulbs can't give what we need.  Energy comes from the sun!  (And by the way...so does Vitamin D!
  • Darkness  - Darkness sometimes gets a bad rap.  Darkness was here from the beginning.  In fact, all was dark and void before Light.  Darkness represents many things which carry unpleasant connotations, but actually solitude is probably the best description I can think of...and void, as the Bible says.  I think darkness can be lonely if given too much, and there is no life, so therefore it represents death.  There is also no warmth.  Darkness, in essence, is what we are escaping from, yet we have to be unafraid, for fear lives in the dark realm and is ignorant to the truth of the light.  So we admit its existence and keep it in balance, I guess. Therein lies our question regarding control...
    • Day and night were divided.  Do we honor that?  It has been very well established in science and practical knowledge that sleep is essential to all aspects of health!
    • Do we balance our solitary time and add it into our life?  Quiet time?  Time set apart for just "nothing?"  Or are we busy, busy, busy all day and then wonder why we can't relax our minds and our bodies at night?  We need to respect the need for solitude in ourselves.  Neither should we live in complete solitude...we need to balance our "days" and our "nights."
    • Do we understand that to go through periods of sadness is part of life, or do we try and medicate this away rather than learn to balance our highs and our lows?  The night will surely be followed by day!
  • The sun, the moon, the stars to give us signs and to make our seasons and divide night from day.
    • Again, divide night from day.
    • Seasons...the natural cycles of life.  We would do well to eat what's in season, I think!  I believe this would be the natural thing!
    • It is okay to take our signs from the stars in the heavens.  This is not some "new age occultist" idea...this is the 14th verse of the 1st book of the Christian Bible!  Throughout history the stars have been considered to be signs of the cycles of nature, moving in the same cyclic patterns as us.  That's how our destiny is so easily read.  It also tells good growing times!  This holds true for the moon and the sun, as well...we are affected by these things which seem so far removed.  Our degree of control lies in using them as they were intended to be used by us...to mark the cycles and the passage of time...we need to learn to follow the signs and respect the patterns of life.
  • Water - Oh wow!  Our bodies are made up of about 70% water!  Water is how we carry nutrients to every cell and carry out all the waste!  Water is as essential to the health of the body as it is to the health of the world!  (The earth is made up of about 70% water, too!  Water has the same benefits for the earth as for us...to carry nutrients in and to wash away the debris.)
    • How much water are we drinking a day?  We can exercise a huge amount of control over our health by ensuring we have adequate amounts of water to carry in the nutrients most efficiently and to carry out the toxic waste!!!
      • Rule of Thumb - Divide your body weight in half.  The number you get is the optimal number of ounces a day your body requires for good health!
    • What kind of water are you drinking?  Is it pure water?  That means not mixed with koolaide, juice, tea, coffee, pop or anything else!  That also means, is it filtered?  Water HAS to be clean to do it's job like it should!  It does no good to carry in more waste in the water, just to be filtered back out.  It's like washing the car in dirty water.  It's just not going to come out as clean!
      • Buy a filter or be a filter, I say!  Contact me for more information if you'd like to see what I can offer to you in the way of water filter solutions!
      • Water can also be used therapeutically in the way of healing baths.  Make water a part of your life!
      • Take action to keep water, air and land clean for all!
  • Air - No one can live long without breathing!  Are we making the most of our ability to breathe as we can?  Are we breathing in deeply and evenly?  Or are we breathing in shallow little breaths full of stress?  Are we exhaling completely?  Exhaling is a way of releasing toxins that otherwise stay trapped within.  Are we doing what we can to increase our ability to properly breathe?  Slowwwwwwwwly and deeply....Relaxed.  Oxygen has to get to every cell in our body to live!
    • We can use herbs to help clean out and heal our lungs, such as mullein leaves or lobelia.  There are many more of these herbs!
    • Be sure to get enough FRESH air every day!  Even in winter...open the window and breathe the air in!  Stale air inside a house is often full of bacteria and pollutants.  Having an air filter is best!  If you need help in selecting one, please let me know.  I may be able to help you out with a very nice system!
    • Aromatherapy also helps clean the air.  People sometimes don't realize the antibacterial and antiviral effects of essential oils.
    • Click Here for some great info on the importance of breathing and how to increase your healing strength through your breath!

  • Land, trees, plants, HERBS!  Herbs are our food!  They will supply everything we need in the way of nutrients to make our bodies strong and fuction the way that they should!
    • Eat plenty of fresh fruits, veggies, and HERBS!
    • Use herbs for healing to nourish the body so that the body can heal itself according to its design.
    • Aromatherapy!  It's a lot more than just a good smell!
    • Take care of the land...Don't let it become polluted!
    • Support sustainable agriculture!!!
    • Work to strengthen your connection with Mother Earth.  Ground yourself by walking barefoot outside or hugging trees...YES!  The electromagnetic force of the earth is perfect for aligning our own energy.  We're going to feel weak and as if our energy's been sapped if we just sit in front of the tv or computer all day!
  • Every fish of the sea, every bird, everything that creepeth and US!
    • Why are we given each other?  Every creature on all of the earth is here for a reason...Not to eat...the herbs were given as food.  They are here for us to LOVE!  There is incredible healing power in love...in taking care of another being, looking after someone, providing nurture and understanding, forgiveness, and helping each other out.  LAUGHTER is healing...it's so much more fun to laugh with a friend!  Compassion, sharing, considering each other's views...these are all real healthy ways to spend our time here on earth!
    • Plus don't forget to make use of our own bodies for healing!  MOVEMENT! Exercise is very important for health!
    • And since we do have others to love, don't forget the healing power of TOUCH!  There is so much we can do to be well!

There's even more than I mentioned, I'm sure, that was here from the start for us to heal.  We don't neeeeeeeed insurance and drugs to be well.  That's what I choose to believe.

Don't get me wrong, medical doctors do have their place.  If someone does not know natural ways then a doctor could save their life!  I know I'd like to be taken to one if my insides were laying out on the pavement and needed to be put back in!  But as for general wellness, it's all been provided for us!

Community, Communication, Communion...What does it mean for our health?  It means that we are all in this together, and that if we cooperate and interact with each other and with our environment as we were intended to do, then we will be ONE in our perfect design!

Naturally Yours in Good Health...

Vibraceous, ND's BASIC PLAN for Natural Wellness

Protocol to Nourish, Cleanse and Balance the System

written by Naturopathic Doctor, Mary Jo Eshelman, ND, CTN, CNHP, D.D.

This plan will accommodate most folks just fine.  If there is a specific need, address it with the essential oils first.  Add targeted herbal formulas in after three months of using just regular nutritional herbs.  If there is an urgent need, the targeted formulas can be started earlier…even right from the start…but if the problem is not acute or in urgent need of expedient relief, I find it is best to start out this way.

This plan is designed to balance, strengthen, and cleanse the system.  Most problems will work themselves out with this approach in due time.  Except for acute conditions, allow at least three months for healing to occur, and in addition allow approximately one month of healing time to every year that a condition has presented itself.  No one gets sick in one day!  It takes time to regenerate cells.

This is not intended to take the place of the advice or guidance of a licensed medical doctor.  If you are experiencing serious problems with your health, it is recommended that you seek the advise of a physician.  The ultimate decision as to how to pursue after that, is your choice.  You may decide to go strictly the conventional route, use a complimentary approach to healing, or use an alternative method, forgoing conventional care.  The responsibility for your health belongs to you.  The information provided below is to present to you a program designed to support wellness through natural means.

The program begins with efforts to balance the system through the use of flower essences directed primarily towards the emotional and spiritual aspects of being, although physical symptoms will be affected as well.  The essences work to remove inner blocks and resistance to healing, and to restore overall balance and harmony.  Essential oils work nicely in conjunction with flower remedies, and gently work to restore balance, too.  Essential oils can be directed towards both physical and emotional needs.  The particular flower essences and essential oils to be used varies with each individual case.

It is good to start this part of the program before beginning the remaining components, so that you can more accurately gauge the results, and also to give the body a chance to adjust.  It is better to take a gradual and gentle approach to natural healing, and in the long run, the results are much better, I find.

BUT…there is nothing the matter with starting to increase the water intake right from the beginning!  Water is extremely important to the whole process of healing.  Aim at one gallon a day spread out over the waking hours.  (Or drink the same number in ounces as the number of pounds you get as a result of dividing the body weight by two.)  Drink distilled water specifically, especially during this time.  (Always purified water of some sort, but distilled is best for purposes of pulling toxins and heavy metals out of the system.)

If you are not used to drinking much water, it’s okay to start gradually, but build up as quick as you can.  At first you will have to urinate more often than usual, but this urge will taper off as your body begins to absorb more of the water into dehydrated cells.

Avoid drinking water beginning 20 minutes before a meal and up to an hour after a meal, so as not to dilute the digestive juices need to digest the meal.

In addition to drinking the water throughout the day, mix some raw local honey and organic apple cider vinegar half and half, and then take ¾ cup of this mixture and add it to a 2 qt. pitcher of distilled water.  (Store the rest of the mixture for later use.)  Drink a glass before every meal.  This will actually assist with digestion, as well as work to balance the body’s pH and supply a significant amount of nutrients.  Also, take 1 tablespoon of raw honey each night before bed.  This will help provide a more restful sleep.

Eat as closely to nature as you possibly can.  Organic, raw, whole foods are best, preferably locally grown and in season.  Most people will stray from these ideals, but try to steer yourself more and more in the direction of this.  A diet consisting of 80% fruits and vegetables and 20% grains, nuts, and seeds is what I believe to be best.  Smaller and simpler meals eaten more often are best to maintain blood sugar levels and to give the body a better chance to digest.  Eat slowly and chew your foods well.

Again, stay away from processed foods as much as you possibly can, particularly in the oils that you choose.  Use only cold-pressed oils for salads, etc., and only extra-virgin olive oil for your cooking needs.  Also, do not fall into the trap of artificial ingredients.  Gradually move yourself into the direction of eating more natural foods.  Try to eat food close to the way it was grown.  Work to eat balanced meals, with the natural colors of food to act as your simple guide.  The colors give clues to the nutritional content of foods.  A plate full of nothing but white is not a very well-balanced meal.

Continue on with this focus on nutritional balance by beginning a program of nutritional supplementation.  In this way you can be certain to meet your basic nutritional needs.  (Not that it isn’t still important to eat!)

Today’s farming methods practices, etc., make it very difficult to be sure on a daily basis that we are getting what we need to run our bodies at optimal levels conducive to health.  Wellness is more than just a lack of sickness, and that will tell over time of not getting a steady supply of the nutrients we need to be strong enough to ward off disease and to function as well as we should.  As mentioned earlier, sickness does not begin over night.  A good program of wellness works to maintain a healthy body, not merely wait until the body is sick and then begin to give it what it needs to stay well.

Herbs are the ultimate source of our nourishment, as presented to us by God from the beginning, as stated in Genesis 1:29.  “And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.”

So, herbs are not drugs, they are nutrients. People often confuse the two, because many drugs are derived from plants. The difference, however, is that they’ve been changed. When parts of a plant are extracted for drugs, it is not a whole plant anymore; but something that’s been made by man. Drugs are synthetic. Plants are made by God. When you extract substances from plants, mix them with chemicals, and heavily process them, it is then that they become drugs. When they are used as whole foods, herbs nourish the body so that the body can heal and stay well. Herbs provide nutritional support so that the body can heal itself.

Those who attempt to use nutrients as drugs will likely be disappointed – and, of course, there is no way that a drug can truly substitute for the lack of an essential nutrient. Their very natures and the roles that they play are entirely different.

Drugs have their place. Drugs are excellent tools when immediate or drastic action is needed, as prescribed by a physician, of course. Drugs have a much quicker effect, whereas true healing takes time.
If drugs are used, it is good to follow with the herbs. Herbs can help to reduce the damage from side effects, and to provide nutritional support to the body so that it can more completely and easily heal.

So the next phase of the program is herbs.  If sickness is upon you, you can start with medicinal herbs targeted toward a specific problem, but usually what I prefer to do is to start with the basics and give the body a chance to gain its nutritional footing in order to balance and heal itself.

No matter what, it is the body doing the healing…not the herbs, per se.  God, actually, is the Healing Force, present in the body…and in the herbs.  But the herbs are given to nourish the body so it can function according to its design…the body was made to be well!  We were created to LIVE.

It is good to wait, as stated above, to begin this part of the program so as not to overwhelm the body with too many adjustments at once.  By implementing this program, however, the body will begin to distribute the herbs throughout, to where there is the most need.  You may begin to experience a cleansing reaction, even before beginning the cleansing phase of the program, because herbs in general do have a cleansing effect.  The fiber, in particular, which I recommend using each day, will help the colon to start clearing itself, so the body is more ready for an in-depth cleanse.

Many practitioners recommend cleansing right from the start, but I prefer to begin strengthening the system first, so as not to over-stress the body when performing the cleanse.

Cleansing of any kind can cause an individual to feel a little bit sick.  This doesn’t mean they are sick.  Old symptoms may be re-experienced, or side-effects from previously ingested drugs.  This is a normal reaction, and is not an indication of actual sickness, just the re-experiencing of certain symptoms as toxins are being released from the body.  Better out, than in, as I say!  If it becomes too uncomfortable, the cleansing can be slowed down just a bit.  Also, check to make sure bowels are moving well.  The cleansing regime may need adjusted somewhat until the proper level of comfort is found.

Bowel movements should be substantial in size…approximately the length between the crook in the elbow and the crook in the wrist and as big around as the circle made when placing the forefinger into the first crook in the thumb….plus the stool should float, break apart when the toilet is flushed, it should be easy to flush, and there shouldn’t be a foul smell.  These are the goals for which to aim.  The important thing at first, is to make sure they are moving, and then gradually work towards these goals through cleansing efforts. The fiber is very important to this.

Toxins will exit the body through the bowels, the urinary system, the skin and the lungs.  You may notice changes in any or all of these areas.  Give them time to work themselves out.  Liquid chlorophyll will help with this process, and work to eliminate unpleasant bodily odors during this time.

The program I have outlined below will provide assistance to the digestive and eliminative processes, as well as to supply the needed vitamins, minerals, essential fatty acids, glyconutrients, anti-oxidants, and other nutrients needed to maintain the body in health.  Many of the problems presenting themselves will balance out and dissipate with no additional efforts required.  Wait until the nutritional program has been in place for three months to decide, unless there is an urgent need to hurry the program along.

Most herbs can be safely used along with medication; however, there should be one-hour between their ingestion, as the drugs will lessen the usefulness of the herbs being used.  Keep in mind, too, that as the herbs begin to work in the body, lesser amounts of drugs may be required.

Here is the basic program that I recommend:  (This recommendation is basic…it may differ from one case to the next.  For best results contact me directly regarding your situation and allow me to help you determine exactly how this program can best be used in your case!)

Balancing Act
Mood:  accident prone
Now Playing: Up On a Tight Rope by Leon Russell
Topic: Healing Process

Life is a Balancing Act! This is the key to good health.

Balance - To bring into or maintain in a state of equilibrium; A harmonious or satisfying arrangement or proportion of parts or elements, as in a design.

"As in design"...Yes. That is the goal!

So how do we come into balance? Blood pressure too high, blood sugar too low, moods out of kilter, way overweight, working too hard...Where in the world do we start? Even the checkbook is wrong!

Start with breathing. That's a good place to begin! Meditation and prayer practices have incorporated breathing techniques for ages and ages, for very good reasons. It opens the body and mind, and works to bring harmony.

We will be giving some workshops and publishing articles regarding breathing techniques, so be sure to check back often for those! In the meanwhile, here is some good information on breathing.. It has some really good exercises to help you get started with this!

Now what about water. Water is very important, of course, we all know. But what does it have to do with balance?

As The Charles Sturt University explains, "Water is the solvent for metabolic reactions in living cells. Many molecules and all ions important for the life of the cell are carried in an aqueous solution and these diffuse to reaction sites through the water in the cell. Metabolic reactions within the cell can occur only in solution where water is the solvent. It is critical for proper functioning of these reactions that the amount and concentration of water in the cell be kept constant. Most cells die when the water content is changed significantly."

In other words...Water is needed by every cell, to do everything that cells need to do!

Water regulates body temperature, removes wastes from the body; carries nutrients, oxygen, enzymes, hormonesand glucose to the cells; carries away toxins and metabloic waste from the cells for elimination; cushions the joints; strengthens the muscles; and provides natural moisture to skin and other tissues...We absolutely need it to live!

Why is it that people think if they are alive that they're fine. If you are experiencing thirst, then your body is already in a state of dehydration. Constipated? Dehydration. Even diahhrea can be a sign of dehydration, but I'll leave that lesson for another day.

How much water? Here is a general rule:

Take your body weight
Divide it in half
The number you get is the number of ounces of water you should drink every day...AT A MINIMUM!

Sound like a lot? To some, perhaps it might. But that's how much water your body needs to function the way that it was designed. Don't forget--It makes up more of our physical bodies than absolutely anything else!

For information regarding the safety of our nation's drinking water, be sure to read the extensive three part series published by the Houston Chronicle, entitled Tap Water At Risk.

We have been buying bottled water for use in our housesold for years, but there are a lot of problems with doing that, too--namely, the bottles. It's not a much better solution at all. Not if you consider the Hazards of Environmental Estrogens derived from synthetic sources.

Here's one solution. It's a lot more cost effective than having to pay for the cost of the loss of your health!

At any rate...even if you have terrible water...start drinking it! From SOMEWHERE! Pure water, of course is best! We're trying to eliminate poisons with water...Not drink more of them in.

But DRINK! PLEASE! You can't expect the body to find balance without it! Not when all the activities of every cell are dependent upon it's supply.

Balance. Yes. There's that word again. Let's talk now about balanced diets. What in the world does that mean?

Well, let's keep this real simple. Food gives us what we need to do what we need to do. It is our fuel. Some foods are good for some things, and some foods are good for other things. It all depends on which nutrients are contained in which food.

Soooooo....Eat a variety of foods for a variety of nutrients! :-D

Color is a good indication of the nutrient content of foods. When you fix up a plate, be sure that it's not all the same color. (And I mean REAL color! Not artificial!

It's also important in planning a balanced diet that the body's pH balance be taken into account. Our diet should be about 75% alkalinizing and only 25% acidic. Otherwise, valuable minerals will be depleted to bring the pH into balance, making the body more susceptible to the dengenerative diseases which these minerals protect us from.

We have pH testing strips available if you are interested. It's a very good indication of what's going on with your health!

Certain foods act to balance our emotional health as well as our physical health!

That makes sense, though, in the light of holistic health. You can't help but effect one realm of your being when interacting on one of the other realms. That is because we are WHOLE...not bits and pieces and parts. We are body, spirit and mind.

Herbs are another tool we can use to bring balance into our lives. Adapogenic herbs work to increase reisistance and resilience to stress, helping to balance blood pressure, blood sugar, heart rate, and maintain homeostasis throughout the body.

Aromatherapy and flower essences have particularly balancing effects on the emotions.

Exercise, of course...Balance...Yoga is exceptionally good.

Balanced lifestyle...Moderation in all things. Right now I need to moderate my work schedule a little and get myself to bed!

SLEEP is EXTREMELY important to balance! We'll talk more later about some of these things. To be continued...at a later time when I'm awake!

Balance

Just keep that word in mind...We'll pick up from here another day.

Goodnight and sleep well!
