On The Might Of Princes- Emo/intence passionate rock from Selden L.I. once the property of Rok Lok Records (1999's The making of a conversation) and around putting out songs since september 1998 they started out strong playing shows with an intensity and presence unlike any band around at the mod center(mod center army), shoream rec center, and cedar beach! After their 1999 release and the departure of then drummer nicole kieper and the addition of current drummer chris enriquez the bad scored adeal w/ creep records for their 2000 release of "where you are and where you want to be", from the local success of "the princes" here they set out to tour america and successfully promoted their album pending multiple van troubles but we're all glad to see them back now and looking forward to another tremendous OTMOP album from Revalation Records! Bookstore- Bookstore is an allaround great band with indie baroque pop rifs and dreamfeel lyrics that create the party/good feeling atmosphere and their the coolest trio on the island. Although they haven't played outside nyc and the island they are comfortable and thrilled to play to the same crowd (the muse crew)all the time and hangout with the island folk! Their self titled debute album (2001 Rok Lok release) has 10 great tracks that you can listen and repeat and not be bored you guys rock!! Bookstore

Weezer has erupted so it seems all the "cool kids" love weezer since the green album....which was not so great..exception Crab, Hash Pipe and Photograph, In 1994 they released their s/t "Blue Album" with Ten Tracks with all ur fav's...The front man Rivers Cuomo(who doesnt know that....you dont?? then get the f&%k outta here hahahah) flowed off his success as Weezer started to become big....he infact moved to Los Angeles when he was 18 to "Become a Rockstar" yet he inhibits some un rockstaresque qualities such as he doesnt revel in such success(example- all the rappers reveling with their chains and cars and shit), doesnt make a huge deal or live for drinking and drug use, and doesnt give in for younger audiences for toneing anything down and also an interesting fact is his approach on interviews....hes alot like me when talking and answering questions....Eyes fixed towards the floor, deep breaths, long pauses, complex intriguing answers, cracking voice at times, nervousness, and habit of trying to avoid such situations because of it...doesnt mean this doesnt make him a rock star...it makes him his own person why else would i be so following of and thrilled over a guy being himself and putting out incredible music..and just happens to be so good and together taht he makes a living from it. While persueing Rockstardom Rivers began forming and fooling around through such bands as Ah Vanguard, Goat Punishment, 60 Wrong Sausages, and Fuzz before meating up with Brian Bell, Pat Wilson, and Matt Sharpe(all but Brian circulating between these times at either percussion or bass in the assorted bands) Everyone knows of their rapid success of the times and how at one time u hated to admit it ... but you couldnt get "say it aint so" outta ur head when u heard it....much as i did once in 1998 for some strange reason...Weezer by then completly disapeared from the radio except "surf wax america" i heard really late at night one time going through Conneticut into New London(Rivers was born in Conn. so mabey it was a B-day speacial or somethin...which infact is June 13th ..but anyway) but even though the song didnt stick in my head for too long i wondered what the kcuf happened to weezer.....help me internet.....help me sam goody...comp was too slow...sam goody turned their back as well...Local Cd stores might have more info...they did..i heard Pinkerton which had turned into a flop since its release two years previously in 1996..but why? well forgot about it until around august of last year where the Green Album was soaring.....Morpheus was my pal....Pinkerton oh man the missing puzzel peice....listened once again and compared...i think it wipes out Blue and Green as well as Maladroit thanks to Morpheus ive heard also...Pinkerton has songs that lyrically provide the tears i can reflect on and came at the right point in my pathetic love quest because i got the tales and message in Rivers lyrics and the music provides the punch into higher or level gear as the other full length album's that can support the messages in tempo and strain into melodic step to step continuation...more complex then the other album's mostly because of the bands split up to reach newer goals in their lives....Rivers went to Harvard and to discover differnt obstacles around him such as culture...Japanese culture has a high impact on the Themes, Lyrics, and Video(El Scortcho Animated version) in Pinkerton....Also inspired by the Playwrite/Opera "Madame Butterfly" dont believe me?? look at the cover art and thers a line taken from the play streaming across the top of the picture...after downloading everything from Pinkerton i searched for more and more...b-sides and Rareities such as Jaime, Susanne, and Devotion.....all these are found in my m3u winamp list thing...i dunno if u click it that itll work on ur computer once i have millions of hours of time ill but all the mp3's up to download :)
