Flight Controls

Welcome to my online photo album.

Elevator Control

Using the concept of Mark Langford and modification by Mark Jones, here is my version of the elevator control system with counterweight on the interior of the plane. Since this photo was taken I have added small strips of 1/4" birch plywood to eitherside of the V.S. spar at the elongated hole. Just seemed to begging for a little added strength once this hole was cut through.

Another view of the elevator control. Cable gets real darn close to the horizontal cross member in the foreground. Light colored piece of tubing in center coming out of H.S. is nyrod for trim tab.

Forward portion

This shows the attachment of the pushrod from the stick to cable just behind the aft center spar. Using the new airfoil allows for room under the rear spar for this configuration.
