One of our members has just turned 18 and wants to be baptized! This is a very volatile issue as you know, if you’ve been keeping up with my writings. Bottom line, after much prayer, discussions, counseling, and more prayer it’s a go. We will be baptizing on January 3rd, 2004.
We are renting the Big Bus, the 50 passenger baby! Once again our Bedouin connection is paying off. We are getting the bus at a sweetheart price…considering!
The bus will cost us 1500 NIS (New Israeli Shekels) plus 18 % or 19% tax.
Today’s exchange rate is 4.38986 NIS per 1 USD (US Dollar) thus the bus will cost around $341.70 plus $64.93 in taxes =
People in both the Russian and Hebrew congregations are very excited about all this! Many have never seen the Jordan and will be mainly coming along for the ride and to witness the event!
We will be traveling along the Dead Sea, in other words along the Jordan Valley! I will give you the scope along with pictures!
The other congregations are going to try and give us a small contribution which I’ll give you more details.
P.S. I think I’ll keep this project open for about 30 days. Thus allowing you still an opportunity to still cash in on this blessing.
