Periodically people come to Israel with an agenda to pray the curse off the land (Jer 18:15-16). Some say the land is cursed because the year of Jubilee has not been kept (Lev 25:11).
While many only see rocks and sand, I see Israel as the land of milk and honey. Guess I’m looking though my spiritual eyes (smile). But we can’t always live in the spirit, at least not YET!
Well, one day while looking at our yard cardinally, I saw nothing but rocks and sand! Or perhaps through my spiritual eyes I saw the curse. Bottom-line: I rolled up my sleeves and got busy!
First I started a compost pile! Next I laid the framework for raised beds! I even sifted sand removing stone by stone, once spotted by my neighbor who shouted “If you find gold, give me some!” I think he thought I was nuts.
It’s going on 2 years since starting this project. As a result, I’ve spread humus everywhere: front, side, and back.
Barren ground has become fertile, stone-free soil. Producing: grass, flowers, collard greens, potatoes, cherry tomatoes, cantaloupe, lettuce, corn, carrots, radish, and string beans thus far.
Lura saw her first earth worm in her 7 ½ years here in Israel.
The curse has been broken, the hard way (smile). When Y’shua returns He’ll show us how it’s really done!
Bottom-line, God allowed me to do the labor and plant the seeds. He then turned the compost into humus, created the worms, and brought forth the fruit, and grass, and flowers. The flowers attract bees, the veggies attract insects, and the insects attract turtle doves and other type birds.
There’s a walkway along the right side of our house. People passing by the front or along the side can hopefully see evidence of God!
Is it possible for a person to find God by simply walking past a pretty garden, in the middle of a desert? People who wouldn’t return a “Good morning” are now doing so. People with long faces are now wearing smiles!
