Arad takes on Dimona head up!

Yes! We engaged the Russian chess players of Dimona in a fierce showdown. When the smoke cleared, the score was 9 to 3. We walked away with the gold (figuratively speaking).

The games took place in community center - museum. They laid out the red carpet for us that consisted of a welcome sign, cake, soda, and water! They even gave medals away to the winners. This was a big deal for everyone involved.

To add to the excitement and fun, this was the first time the guys in Dimona had seen me play. Me being American and black against the Russians on the chess board always draws a curious crowd. Win or lose, it’s a crowd pleaser and a warm fuzzy.

Dimona wants a rematch! A chance to save face! (smile).
