Geographical, Israel is about the same size as New Jersey. When we have a youth event kids attend from throughout the land. On these occasions Lura and I help provide transportation since we now have a van.
Well, word was that the youth were having a ‘beach/cookout’ in Ashqelon, Oct. 17, 2003 and they needed me (really the van) smile!
Ashqelon is on the Mediterranean (the Roman pool) about 12 ½ miles north of Gaza (called Uza by the Arabs). Ashqelon often gets rocket attacks from the ‘Strip’.
Guess the kids are getting immune to the dangers or learning to lean on the Lord! We said a prayer for safety and hit the road! Everyone had a grand time!
Note! We used 3 vans and an 8-seat station wagon, beginning to see more and more of a need for a bus.
